Unfortunately they were. I might have found one from some obscure website so we will see if it shows up.

    Winter project

Bone stock rebuild of my 71 429 CJ bored .30 over. Just broke engine in for a while and did one power run for fun. Ran on the Dyno with a carb but will have SNiper EFI when installed in the car so it should t be as rich on the top end. I’m happy with the numbers!

PDB master cylinder rebuilt kit availability?

For those that want to keep their original PDB master cylinders where are you getting your rebuild kits from as it seems they are either discontinued or out of stock everywhere.

    1972 mustang

Welcome from Michigan! Would love to hear more about how you acquired your mustang as well as more pictures of the sunroof as I’ve never seen on like that on a 71-73 Mustang before.

Some original parts from my engine rebuild. I didn’t know that Ford originally used nylon timing chain gears in these engines! Very interesting for sure!

    Winter project

Engines hitting the dyno next week for break in and then some power runs. We are going to run a set of headers and a carb instead of EFI and stock manifolds how I’d run it. I’m not to concerned with the numbers going on the dyno for break-in. Valve covers and distributor will be removed and...

    Winter project

Made some good progress today. Rebuilt the idler pulleys and refurbished the fan, motor mounts, alt bracket, trans mount and the exhaust manifold heat shield. Also started cleaning up the engine compartment but will be focusing on that tomorrow as I’m pretty much done with the engine parts...

    Winter project

Next I’m using the 429 mega site to detail other engine and engine compartment pieces. I also tackled various pieces that are semi gloss.  I used NPD spray can semi gloss which went on very well.  Only piece I wasn’t happy with was the crankshaft pulley as it had a fair amount of pitting.    ...

    Winter project

A few things have happened since the engine has been pulled. - engine has been dropped off at the engine building for teardown and rebuild.  Teardown has been completed and nothing out of the ordinary was found.  Parts have been ordered for the rebuild and it should be together in 4-6 weeks. -...

To EFI or Not EFI, that, and which one, is the question.

I installed a Sniper EFI kit this summer on my 71 and have never looked back.  Starts right up, idles perfectly and the vapor lock that I was experiencing is gone.  While I would have loved to keep my 429 completely stock I wasn’t able to drive it which was killing me.  Looking forward to...

Engines torn down. A few Piston skirts had hairline cracks so it looks like it was a good time for a rebuild.

    Hood Lock Mount Bracket

I’m freshening up my engine bay this winter and am trying to figure out what the right finish for the hood pin latches shown in the picture above should be.  I’m aware that most people paint them but I’m pretty sure they are supposed to be plated but I’m struggling to find info. im probably...

    Winter project

It’s a J code.  I was really happy to see it on the car and am very pleased to see it can be restored as well!  We are practically neighbors,  would love to get together sometime and share stories and look at cars.
