    351C to 460 Swap - Opinions

    I have done it and I don't regret it but my Cleveland was shot and in need of a rebuild. I too got a good running 460 for basically nothing so I did the swap. For me it was the fastest and cheapest way to get a running driving car again. You on the other hand, are probably just a cam change away...

    Oil pressure

    If you are going to go to the trouble of removing the engine to change the oil pump why not just address the root cause and correct the clearances?

    Headers

    It is all about what you want. If you are looking for every last ounce of power then long tube headers are needed. If that is not the case there is nothing wrong with shorties or stock exhaust manifolds for that matter.

    Q Code '72 Convertible carb tuning

    The silver or long yellow spring have always work well for me. I think the seat of the pants difference you're feeling might have more to do with the intake change than the secondary spring. Might want to try optimizing the ignition timing for the new combination of parts before getting too...

    351 Cleveland Build

    You can block off the heat crossover with a piece of metal shim material and then drill a small hole in it to retain some manifold heat to help with cold weather operation.

    Removing C6 selector shaft seal

    Chuck, I did this 10 or 12 years ago so my memory might be a little fuzzy but, I dropped the pan and valve body and removed the shaft but I don't recall any particular difficulty in prying the seal out other than it being a little tight working in there against the trans tunnel. I may have...

    Edelbrock = 465HP?

    EDIT: Sorry I read the 351C 4V as you using the factory heads. It didn't register that you were including the Eddy heads. The rest still applies.

    Edelbrock = 465HP?

    You would need to set the heads up for the cam (as in installing one piece valves, correct springs and a performance valve job), change pistons to raise compression, add headers and 2.5" dual exhaust with free flowing mufflers, and dial in the ignition timing. You will want to consider changing...

    Anyone Interested in Going Electric?

    There was a guy on here years ago who was converting a 72 R Code to EV. I think his name was Phil. I remember giving him some shit about doing that to a car as rare as that. The car was mint as I recall.

    Carb Replacement

    The 4300d uses a unique asymetrical spreadbore pattern. There is no direct fit aftermarket option that I am aware of. If you are unwilling to swap the intake or use an adapter your only options are to rebuild what you have or buy a refurbished one.
