Curious if anyone has tried running side scoops or quarter window scoops on a 71-73 Mach 1.

Dang that's a really sweet ride! Love everything you've done to it, well done!

Same I can't find anything like that, I've tossed around the idea of fabricating my own. If I can find a Shelby in person to take some measurements I might do it.

It's strange, with how iconic those scoops are on fastbacks you would think there were atleast some people that gave it a go. Very cool! Really like the duckbill rear deck lid, that's actually something I would like to have. Scoops look cool to but would like to see a full size view if you have...

I can't say I've ever seen it on a Mach 1, and maybe that's for good reason, but curious what it would look like if anyone has done it. Not something I plan on doing, just has my curiosity burning. If you've done it or have any pics post them below. I like looking at custom body kits, and all...

Anyone replaced all the brake lines?

That's fair, I come from the racing world where we would constantly be swapping out / bleeding the brakes so it's just become habit I guess. When you have a fast car the brakes become a big focus for us. Plus gives me a reason to drink beers in the shop 😁

Anyone replaced all the brake lines?

Yeah I'm with you there, brake fluid is cheap and easy enough to bleed em.

Anyone replaced all the brake lines?

Thanks, yeah I was just looking into that option, I think I'd prefer just making my own steel lines from the 25' roll and going that route.

Anyone replaced all the brake lines?

Ok thanks thats what I was afraid of. I was thinking of just getting straight line and making my own lines, rather than the pre-fitted, that might help me avoid the areas I can't get to. Or I just hold off on that line till I pull the engine and tranny down the road.

Anyone replaced all the brake lines?

I have a 73 Mach 1 that was sitting for 30-40 years, and the brakes didn't work at all which makes sense. I replaced the master cylinder, and went through the bleeding process. The front discs were normal, easy to bleed and work fine now. The rears I can't get to bleed, no fluid flowing and...

    Header options & installation advice

Great writeup thanks for sharing! So my only fear now is ground clearance. I plan on lowering the front to level the car out. How is the ground clearance with the new comps?

Ok perfect, that was going to be my next question, how's the clearance near the trans. Thank you!

    Header options & installation advice

Ok great thank you! I plan to pull the engine at a later date to rebuild it but was hoping I could do the headers now as I have to replace all the rusted out exhaust pipes. Do you have the Hooker 6915 headers?

    Header options & installation advice

Hey all! I'm looking to swap out the stock exhaust manifold on my 73 Mach 1 (351c 4v). I heard the Hooker 6915 long tube is a good option, but my question is mostly on fitment. It's pretty tight in there so do I need to just loosen the motor mounts, pull the engine or can they be installed as is...

    My 1973 Mach 1 Build

Got the driver's side fender about wrapped up (for now). I've never done any serious body work so this was definitely a learning experience. Worth it to keep the original fender on it. That body line is a serious pain to get not only straight, but the tapered contour towards the front.

    My 1973 Mach 1 Build

Apologies completely forgot to answer your question.. No squeaking at all, there is a small leak from the power steering somewhere, doesn't look like it's from the pump so maybe a line or something. No other leaks anywhere, pretty surprised by all this to be honest.

    My 1973 Mach 1 Build

Yeah that's what I thought. I think my grandma put a lot of those miles on, she used to go see her sister about 2 hrs up the highway once a week, so the motor probably never had a lot of strain. Either way I'm pretty happy with it, sounds healthy!

    My 1973 Mach 1 Build

Finally got it breathing fire! Dropped the tank to flush it, blew the lines out, replaced the fuel pump (that was a pain in the ass) and rebuilt the carburetor. Flushed the radiator and changed the oil, hasn't been started since the mid 80s now it's purring like a wildcat. Next up I'm going to...
