    Dash Pad removal

    Thanks guys for the info.  It worked, took about all the force I could muster to get it loose.  The only unusual thing was the dollops of “goo” over the speaker mount.  Assume this is not factory, and it was done in an attempt to limit a rattle. Thanks again!

    Dash Pad removal

    Hi, I’m attempting to take out the Dash Pad, and metal dash ahead/attached to it.  The screws over the instrument cluster, map light, and glove box have all been removed. Can lift the Dash Pad along the where the screws were removed, but am unable to pull it back.  Am I missing something, other...

    How much does your car weigh?

    My '72 convert weights 3320lbs with 3/4 tank of gas. Originally a 302, C4, non A/C car with an 8" rear. Currently has a 351w with aluminum heads, manifold and a NASA hood, all else stock including the single exhaust. Dan

    The camshaft is likely advanced too far. If the cam is stock, or is of near stock duration, having it installed advanced a few degrees will get you numbers up where you're at. I would expect that your initial ignition timing would have to be retarded quite a bit to keep your engine out of...
