    73 Mustang Convertible Q Code

Thanks. I want to do the blackout hood and hockey stripe once I get it painted. Congrats on your car! Very nice job! Looks like you had a lot to learn and not a lot of local resources, but the end result is enviable in any country! Did you rechrome the exterior components? They look great.

    C6 Transmission question

I'll take it back to the shop and have them check it out. I had a moderate shift kit installed with the rebuild, but I think I can go even more aggressive with it. Doesn't the 351C redline around 5500? Seems like a very short power band, but it does well at higher speeds under acceleration...

    C6 Transmission question

I have 73 Q Code with a newly built C6 transmission. I will take it back to the shop, but there seems to be something odd going on. I was told the torque converter was a 1900 rpm stall, but I have read that these came with a 2500 rpm stall. When I step on the gas, the tach runs to around 3000...

73 side stripes hockey stick style?

That's a great article. I know the Mach 1 stripe changed, but nice to see the hockey puck was still the non Mach option. I like it better and when I repaint I want to go that route. The odd thing was the pics showed the magnum 500 rims, but I thought they scrubbed those for the 5 slot...

    Introduction

I will put something in my "garage" shortly. I just got the Marti report and it confirmed this is almost all original except for the paint. It was born white and was repainted red but that paint job has a number of flaws. I am starting to restore the interior and then see where I go from...

    73 Center Gauge Trim

Yes, it came with the map light. I don't know if all convertibles came with it since the map light would be the only interior light other than floor lighs. Thanks for the advice on that.

'73 Interior trim and door panels

Great advice. My door panels are the original fiberboard ones, but the drivers side is rotted out. The passenger side backing seems in better shape, but I want them to match and the covering is cracked/repaired and looks pretty poor. Thanks for the quarter panel advise. Mine are in pretty good...

'73 Interior trim and door panels

    1) I am undertaking a full restoration of my '73 vert interior and while I saw a great thread about the how to (thanks 72HCode), I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on the repro trim parts. I know Dan from Ohio posts here. I have seen the parts on CJ pony and a few other sites as well...

    73 Center Gauge Trim

I am looking to restore my '73 vert interior, but all the repro Center Gauge consoles appear to NOT have the dash light. Does anyone know of a repro that has it or am I stuck using my dremel tool and hoping I have a steady hand?

Interior dashboard removal step by step....

This was a TREMENDOUS help. I am restoring the interior on my 73 Vert and was looking for something this in-depth. I will take lots of pics and try to keep notes to help others as well.

    Introduction

I just wanted to say hello! I've just purchased a 73 Q Code Mustang Convertible that is in pretty good shape, but needs some TLC for a restoration. I've always loved the 71-73 Mustang Convertibles. They look great and are just plain fun to drive. I'm very happy to be joining everyone and...
