    Radiator Overflow Tank

Hi all, Why I like Degas system is: the air can compress area before it pushes additional venting gasses out on the top of it. It holds extra coolant that would overflow but keeps running pressure lower. In a bladder system the water expands and has no where to go but the overflow tank. The...

    Fuel sending unit preference?

Hi all, The best one to rebuild is the OEM one if you can I had mine done and converted for one with return line for fuel injection. I had these people rebuild mine. The best thing is if you can get it re-plated with zinc then put it back together. The windings of aftermarket sensors do not...

    Radiator Overflow Tank

Hi All, Cleveland Crush where did you get that overflow bottle? As far as the systems go the best would be above the radiator with a portion of return heater hose running to and from it with a 13-16lbs cap. ( maybe above evap tank) You would just put a cap for filling purposes on radiator...

    Opinions on going EFI

Hi All, I have an older Holley EFI avenger with an old edelbrock performer manifold that has the cross over for manifold heat. This is really helpful in cold weather. The EFI units that are a "carb type" work best in cold weather or hot with this setup. I have a 1" spacer on the manifold. The...

The Snot Rocket: Green '73 fastback

Hi, Attached is information about water pump and Tstat. When rebuild engine look at mods to oil passage ways and new oil pump hex hardened drive shaft. If the Lifter Bores and oil mods are done right you can run stock oil pump. Get 3/4 groved main bearings from Federal Mogul. or fully grooved...

The Snot Rocket: Green '73 fastback

The Iron heads work good I have open chamber 4V heads and they work good. No pinging no matter the octane. I Use 87 octane. They also come stock with the hardened valve seats (all 1973 heads have this). I have two sets of closed chamber heads from my racing days but they need hardened seats. I...

The Snot Rocket: Green '73 fastback

That is definitely a Holley strip dominator manifold. The edlebrook dual plane manifold I mentioned earlier is a good idle to 5k manifold with a heat riser. If you go for aluminun heads there is no heat riser ports in them. If you drive car on cold days with carbs this will be an issue. Look at...

The Snot Rocket: Green '73 fastback

The plate in back looks like where a EGR would go and that looks like a port. The Dual plane edlebrook performer with heat riser is a good manifold. No EGR is needed check your local laws on historic cars, no emission test, not daily driver.
