    4R70W transmission swap

My 65 convert has an AODE - the close ratio version of the 4R70W. It is behind a well built roller cam, rail injection, 427W. The trans, at my door, was about $1500. The triple disk converter was another $800 - kinda rare. The trans has a Baumman controller. That gets me four, switchable...

    Boss gas cap

My 71 M1 came with a flip cap. I added aftermarket flip caps to both of our 73 M1s. And I have two on the shelf. I also added a flip cap to my 65. They are all just bolt-on.

    4 post lifts

I got my 12K# from Tuxedo Distributors https://tuxedoautoequip.com/ They also have a 9K#. I am very happy with mine. It actually lifts my 12K# E350. I have used it enough that I wore out the cylinder. It is rebuild-able.

What is this part called and where can I buy a new one?

Both our 73 Mach 1s did not come to us with the seal, and the AC works fine.

    351C to 460 Swap - Opinions

A 460 in a 71-73 Mustang is a bolt-in. It was designed for it. My wife drove her 71 Mach 1, 460 eight years, till it got rearended the second time. Then we got her the 73 Mach 1, and the neighbors 76 T bird for it's 460/C6. She now has over two decades on the 73. As to the motor mounts to...

    New in SoCal

Rear: 275-60-15, BFG TA or Mickey Thompson. Front: 245-60-14, BFG TA. BFG TA are now made by Cooker, and are the only 14-60 series tires in existence. I put enough spring in the rear of my two Mustangs to center the rear wheels in the fender well. The wheels are vintage slot mags. Rim...

    New in SoCal

I am currently building a 63 F100 with a 532/E4OD. I had to rebuild the floor. Regarding the AODE in my 65 Mustang, I did get bit on the speedometer cable. There was a gear on the output shaft, but no hole in the case. But I hit on someone selling an output housing with an oil line to the...

I have an AODE behind a 427W in a 65 Mustang. I understand it is possible to bolt an AODE to a 532, but, I think it would be marginal.

What did you do to your car today?

RAF Weathersfield. Nine miles and sixty five curves from Braintree, Essex. 1958-61. Could walk London, midnight, alone. Can you do that now?

What did you do to your car today?

That is the design of a roundabout that I once wished was the design of particular roundabout I encountered. Outbound from London, middle of the night, fog, I miscounted roundabouts. Ran straight into a solid wall about three feet high. I was driving a 36 English Ford street rod. It was...

What did you do to your car today?

John Lennon lyric 1980 "Life is what happens to you, while you're busy making other plans," I needed to clear coat some small parts for the F100. Clear coat after mixed has a max, advertised pot life of two hours. It is kinda expensive, once mixed cannot be saved. So I wanted to do some...

I put an E4OD in my 84 van back when it still had a gas engine. It has been running a first gen Baumman controller ever since. Note the parts in my 65 Mustang. I did that one in 2018. My issue with the E4OD in the 73, is space. When I put the E4OD in the van it was enough bigger than the C6...

We are taking the 65 to the TX tour in three weeks. My 73 Mach one is getting a 460/532/E4OD so we can take the camp trailer and a Mustang to Mustang events.

We are Ray and Marion. We live in the SoCal high desert. I am posting here because I am hoping there is someone with enough understanding of the issue, to describe what I will encounter when I try to put an E4OD in my 73 Mach 1. Below is the active vehicles in our stable; basic stats and...
