Can't Remove Caliper From Front Disc Brake Rotor

Time for new calipers and rotors instead ;)

My First Project - New Brake MC & Booster

I've never heard of such a thing, didn't see anything that said it needed it, so this is new. I believe it has one already of sorts (will have to check), there are brake lines from the MC that goes to a block of sorts. The brakes were never in bad shape, they stopped fine, just was leaking...

My First Project - New Brake MC & Booster

Today's work 9/3: Spent about 30 minutes bench bleeding the MC, probably too long as I didn't see bubbles for quite some time, but wanted to be sure. Installed MC to the booster, then torqued down the bolts (35ftlbs) and it's all set! While fluid came out of the holes while putting the brake...

My First Project - New Brake MC & Booster

Seems rather coincidental, but I suppose it could just be terrible timing. I have the wiring diagram manual, still will chase it down and see if I can find any loose connection. I also could have easily bumped the fuses, as they are there and sitting in the open. All in all the brake lights...

My First Project - New Brake MC & Booster

Decided not to give up tonight, still had some energy. Uninstalled and re-installed the booster. Seemed to line up really well and installed the stuff (without shim) and it somewhat worked. Tightened/loosened whenever the light cut out but just could not get it to work 100%. Then re-installed...

My First Project - New Brake MC & Booster

Not sure if I can tell what the arrow is pointing to, but I looked and didn't see anything notable there. I can take more pictures? Update 9/2: I do not have the correct bolt pin, so that idea went out the window. Further attempting to position the brake switch & shim with the booster rod...

My First Project - New Brake MC & Booster

Yep I confirmed with the shop manual, there is suppose to be some sort of bushing in there (I did not have such circular bushing). Perhaps whomever converted this car to disc brakes lost it and used the clip. Well I got the new booster bolted in and the brake pedal assembly (old style) back...

My First Project - New Brake MC & Booster

Hello all! Just a small amount of background intro, skip to :::Project::: if you care not to read. This is my first "project" car (1971 Mustang Conv.) and my first car that is older than 1991 for me to work on. I did not grow up with anyone to teach me cars, so really just been learning on my...

    Carburetor heat shield

It's more-so just overall less experience with a carb. I don't mind the challenge so definitely joking that I want to switch it just because of this issue.

    Carburetor heat shield

Very tempted! Those price tags are steep and not sure if it's worth putting on this 50 (not original) year old motor. Might wait and save the extra pennies and buy a new crate engine and put EFI on that! Although, that'll be a few years down the road :ROFLMAO:

    Carburetor heat shield

I appreciate the info, I haven't yet had the chance to track the fuel line and see where it goes/touches. Definitely working on getting a spacer, seems to be the main suggestion for the most part, so I'll start there and see where it goes. I noticed you said you left it a mech fuel pump, would...

    Carburetor heat shield

I can probably measure and check what kind of clearance is available, but will order that first one just in case, thank you!

    Carburetor heat shield

Thanks for the insight! I bought this mustang about 3 months ago, and with the wonderful daily rains and just life in general, have really only driven it a handful of times so far. Most of the drives have been just cruising around, no stops, so I have no idea if this is really a "new" issue as I...

    Carburetor heat shield

Ah that could be the problem as well. I was pumping 2-3 times before each start, regardless of engine temp. I was watching some videos and it seems that for warmed engines, no pumps may be required or maybe the 1 (long?) pump needed? For the spacer, what info do I need to find in order to find...

    Carburetor heat shield

Are you saying I don't need to do this spacer? I'm currently having issues warm-starting my car (Florida heat doesn't help) and currently look for some solutions. I am new to carbs, so a part of me just want to go right to EFI :)

Thank you all! I am very excited (albeit a bit nervous) for this journey.

'71 Mustang | First Time Owner

Hello all! I recently (earlier this month) decided to finally follow a childhood/lifelong dream of having an awesome muscle car. Always had a car fascination, but just never the means or experience so was always a little intimidated. Well I felt like no time like the present, and I'm not...
