So I am done painting and sealing the seams so I placed the fender on and it once to line up funny.

Now the tab that is on the fender that goes inside where you have to open door to screw it back in ( i hope that makes sense) now does that go infront or behind the plate on the frame?

When I put it behind it will not be attached when I put a bolt in it, but if I put it in front ithen the space between the body and fender is pinched.

I hope I explained this right, it is a small issue just felt like this would be a good question to give someone a good laugh

Okay I think I figured it out by stepping back a moment. I need to put the body clip on the fender not the body that way it will scrw on either way. Man if you only knew what was going on inside this head, lol

The tab on the fender goes BEHIND the tab on the hinge pillar..You should have a J-clip on the fender tab.. Also some tips on fender install.. as per my factory body assy manual..There is supposed to be a strip of 1/2" x approximately 1/8" thick WEATHERPROOF foam weatherstrip /sealer laid down on the fender apron BEFORE INSTALL.. http://www.mcmaster.com/#standard-foam-strips/=h57h2o There are also 1/16" to 1/8" shims used at each attaching bolt on the fender flange to apron..You may have noticed them when you removed the fender..There are also shims used on the 2 bottom attaching points at the rocker..You may or may not need them..Till you bolt everything up you won't know..Best bet is you going to have to assemble both fenders..hood..headlamps grille bumper.. In other words put it all together. leave everything loose..Start adjusting ..gapping..It's a very time consuming process..Me & my helper spent over 3 full days on my car getting everything lined up..Once you have everything where you want it do this

" There is supposed to be a strip of 1/2" x approximately 1/8" thick WEATHERPROOF foam weatherstrip /sealer laid down on the fender apron BEFORE INSTALL "

Keep in mind this foam seal is what caused every mustang to have rotted fender aprons

Dodges and Chryslers were worse, they used a sponge type foam

It was to keep road / puddle splash out of the engine compartment.

Once it got wet , it stayed wet / held moisture for a long time.

Scott great cid man, I have some solid strips of seam dealer I was going to out down. I wish I would have put those holes in prior too but that is the way it goes

Don agreed that's why I specified WEATHERPROOF..you can't use regular open cell foam tape..You could also use 3m strip chaulk
