Lol, I use to ship millions of dollars of automotive tooling from Japan, China, South Korea, German. We never lost a tool. The only huge issue we ever has was when a BMW executive pissed off the Canadian imports. They found a piece of wood in the container that had not been stamped and was not laminated. The BMW idiot kept running his mouth and the Canadians put the die back on a ship going back to China a 5 week slow ship. Production was to start in 2 weeks. We had to build another die in 5 days and fly over to prevent not making a build date. If I remember right it cost $90,000 to fly the die over. When the original tool got to China it was re boxed and then flown over costing another fortune. A great example of how your mouth can overload your ass.

My nephew ships cars all the time. He does not use containers and they are inside. If they are able to drive on and off much less cost. Has never had any damage or loss coming from Japan to U.S. to Savannah, Ga.. Might not be available to UK.

Glad you have a new money pit to toss your funds into and keep us posted.
