All excellent info.  Thank you for taking the time to put that together.  I did not need to be emboldened before tearing into my Rag Joint refurbishment project.  But, I must admit knowing you walked on those hot coals before I did, and offered some experienced counsel, does help me feel better about messing with something s full replacement part is not easily obtainable.  I could not find any NOS parts for a new Rag Joint for the tilt column.  Just more of the incorrect (fixed column) parts, used and new.

It is times like this that I am so glad I opted to pursue this hobby with very common Mustangs as we still have a lot of parts available.  Before I purcahsed our 69 Shelby GT500 I had also been considering getting a 1973 or 1974 AMX, if I could have found one with a 360 or 401, and factory A/C.  I did find a really nice one, in truly lovingly care for condition from the original owner.  But, that was after I bought the Shelby.  I can;t imagine how difficult it must be to get parts for those rare beasts.  I sire like how they look - suspicously similar to the 71-73 Mustang coupe.  heh heh...
