RIBS, is correct. The bracket supports the rear quarter cover which hooks over the edge.   I am going to be cheeky and was wondering if you could answer my question?                                                                                                                            

 I have my rear quarter panels removed at the moment, and wondered if you recognise this bracket. I had fitted new weather seals to the quarter panel and roof line and had to adjust the windows to get a good seal. During the adjustment my rear electric window jammed up and the only way I could rescue it was to take it all apart in situ. This bracket fell out from something, I think possibly from one of the window clamping bolts. I have had a look on various quarter window diagrams but I cannot see this bracket anywhere.  If you or someone else has access to the electric rear quarter window mechanism, could they take a photo of it please for me so I can fit it back on mine.  I had a look at my other window and found the same bracket lying below the window mechanism on the inner floor seal, so the previous owner must have had some issues with the window, and did not fit it to the assembly.
