    Boss gas cap

I FINALLY found an NOS Autolite gas cap for my Boss. Almost as hard to find as the D1ZF-ZA Autolite carb. A few months ago I'm at one of the few non-ethanol pumps in town and it wasn't taking my credit card. I went inside for help and when I returned the NOS Autolite gas cap I left on top of...

Parts Wanted Driver's Door for 1971 Mustang

Ditto on the insurance. I kept insurance on the Boss during the three years it was in and out of restoration facilities. You want your investment protected when the shop burns down. I'm insured with Hagerty so this will be my first opportunity to put their service to the test. I've been a...

Parts Wanted Driver's Door for 1971 Mustang

Pick-up truck in a left-turn only lane decided he didn't want to turn left and instead turned into my lane without seeing me. My Boss just finished a three year comprehensive restoration between two states. Thank God he didn't hit me three feet further back and crush my rear quarter panel...

Mike, interesting there was variation on the factory doors. I'll check out the small details. However I bet it will look better than my current door!

Parts For Sale 71-73 rear spoiler

Like everything else, it's worth whatever someone is willing to pay. However for a price point I paid $850 for a NOS spoiler last Summer.

71 Boss 351 Quick Flip Turned Into Full Scale Restoration

Sorry for the late reply. My restorer used PPG auto paint, Ford code V (see picture). He color sanded the fenders, doors, hood, trunk and body before they were reattached followed by a full buffing. When the car is reassembled I'll take it back for a final cut and buff.

Parts Wanted Beware. New Member as of today 4/5/23 bradonryan is a scammer

It sounds like the same Troll who surfaces with regularity here. Until the moderators ban his IP address he will continue to create new accounts. In the past he's gone by Scotterfoxes, Freeddy, and Alex102 and requests off-forum contact to one of these emails: [email protected]...

    Good NACA hood hinge?

This may not be an option for you but wanted to let the community know about a hood spring refurbishment service by Willie Wilson of Wilson Antique Car Parts. You can see his finished products at the website below. The original hood springs on my Boss 351 would not hold the hood up (very...

Seeking recommendations for rewebbing my seat belts

These are on Amazon. They look like they could work with our belts and you could always return for free if not.

    Insurance lessons learned

Another thumbs up for Hagerty. I've been with USAA since 1984 and they offer Classic Car Insurance through a third party but the terms were too restrictive and the rates were not competitive.

Seeking recommendations for rewebbing my seat belts

I wanted to include Python Restoration as another source for seat belt restoration. I had the belts on my 71 Boss 351 re-webbed, tips rechromed and correct date-coded labels stitched on for about $800 and three weeks. These are my belts in the picture. Contact Stewart at...

Parts Wanted Beware of this Scammer

I conducted a Google Images search of the manifold pictures the scammer emailed. The source of the pictures are from a For Sale posting in a Gran Torino Sport forum dated March 11, 2014. The moderators need to ban this persons IP to prevent them from using their computer/laptop/cell phone to...

Parts Wanted Beware of this Scammer

"calianD" This person joined several days ago and responded to my Parts Wanted request for Boss 351 exhaust manifolds. He requested the conversation go off-forum to this email: [email protected]. Became very clear he knows NOTHING of the car or the parts he claims to be selling. I...
