Parts Wanted Extended Carb Studs - 72 Mach 1 2V

Thanks for the suggestions. I was hoping there would be a Ford part that I could use. There isn't a rush, but I'm guessing since the gasket isn't OEM the studs won't really matter either. It's not like I can't keep them in a baggie if I decide to go back to the thin-style gasket.

Parts Wanted Extended Carb Studs - 72 Mach 1 2V

Hey everybody, I had my carb rebuilt by Chicago Carb and the gasket they supplied is about 3/16" thicker than what was on there originally, making the studs too short to hold down the carb. Does anybody have, or know where I can find studs that are a little longer? Thanks! - James Willich

What does the headliner/underside of the sportsroof look like? Could you post a pic or two? Happy New Year!

Hello from Montana! I've never seen a Mach 1 with a sportsroof! That's fantastic! I was in Katoomba a couple of years back. Beautiful area!

    72 Mach 1 project

Nice car! Looks almost like mine! I don't believe the color on the key fob is correct though. Mine is "medium lime green metallic," not "ivy glow."

    Project Improve handling

If the rear end is breaking loose you may have too much tire on the front, you're too stiff in the rear, not stiff enough in the front, or junk tires.

    Project Improve handling

In addition to the advice given above, pay attention to sidewall stiffness. A lot of time, money, and effort can be quickly negated by a crap set of tires. Anecdotal evidence: I had a 2002 subaru station wagon that I despised. Hated that turd. Felt like it was scraping door handles around...

    Hello from S.E. WA

Thank you, everybody, for the welcome! I'll be in Montana this weekend and I'll have to pop into the storage unit to see the car and take a pic of the dash for insurance. I'm excited to get a shop built here so I can get my cool stuff out of storage...

    Hello from S.E. WA

Where in the Seattle area?  I'm from the area originally, and I bought my Mach from a guy in Aurora.

    Hello from S.E. WA

Howdy folks, New to the forum.  I've got a 1972 Mach 1 that I've had since high school.  Currently, it's in storage in Montana but I'll have it with me when my shop is finished.  In any event, I'm looking forward to checking out some other folk's rides!
