Hello 73 SGM Mach,
A 73 351C is 28 oz . A 164 tooth plate is a different diameter than a 157 or it has been my experience anyway hence the blockplate for starter location.. If you have a 9" standard length yoke then a 50 to 50.5 inch driveshaft is the ticket.
Glad your son is going to be ok and it's a mustang, you all are part of a family the year does not matter. It looks great and it's always such an amazing time when the clearcoat gets laid down, congrats!
I feel you on the price thing but 110% worth it just don't buy fitech. Buy msd atomic or fast efi...the snipers are giving people alot of headaches as well.
Buy a 2 or 3 pass aluminum radiator from Eastwood or speedway motors then use a 2000 v6 ford Taurus fan or twin ford contour fan setup with a controller. Your oem setup is most inefficient at idle and that's when you need max airflow anything over 25 mph you can leave your fan at home.
That's a...
They are both canted valve heads and I've run both with efi. I can tell you with a mild roller cam those closed chambered 4v heads don't have a flatspot that I've ever experienced and pull hard to 6800 rpm with my setup. Nothing wrong with 2 v heads however there's no denying the 4v head.
Like you I can't answer for a 71 to 73 floor but I've done it 4 times into 67 to 70 cars. 351W to 429 in the 69 and it fit perfectly no cutting anything.
Yes it is a separate component but cables flex and forks create exhaust interferences, the internal slave is clean, and I've done about 4 t56s into 67 68 cars with no floor mods at all.
Call Modern Driveline and find out which trans best fits your needs. If they say a t56 will fit that would be my personal choice because of the hydraulic throw out bearing, how they shift and multiple shifter locations etc. The folks at modern driveline sell complete conversion kits too which...
Bud use a 4r70w don't fool with an aod. I make a bolt in kit that uses the stock sifter and a c4 insulator. Get a 2001 to 2004 v6 mustang trans and engine separator plate and tq converter from pull a part and run it provided your donor trans fluid is normal. They can stand anything you can throw...
I used many of these parts as well and that exact roller cam but went with massflo efi, edelbrock aluminum heads and a 4r70w with 3.70 gears Smooth idle and lots of power. If I did it again today I would stroke it to 393 and use Atomic efi to save money on the massflo kit.
The 4r70w is a game...
This is very common with older unibody convertibles. Have the suffrage connectors installed but not at the proper gap, make the top gaps too big because even with the connectors it will still close up when set back down. If there's rust In the floors don't waste time and money do it correctly...
