I have a 72 H and changed it from 2v to 4v I put a idelbrock performer with a Holley 600..used a CJ cam. Long headers and 3:50 rear end. I found I had tons of power top end. Did like that so I put the 2v heads back on and found I have better bottom end. Did I do it right I don’t know. Probably...

I think you’re correct with your story. Nothing is like it used to be. This spring shop in my town would have been like that 30 years ago but now no way. I called them and you said he’d have to source the parts else where. I could tell the guy didn’t know how to deal with an old classic car

so I did go with the 5 leaf and it made my car look level. Which is fine but I want just a little rake in the back. You know. lol. It’s not a fast car but make it look fast 😉

Hello What is the max length shackles you can safely use in a 72? Bought new leafs but the ride height is not exactly what I wanted. Would like another 2” Thought maybe if I put taller shackles I will get the desired ride height

just an update I bought a AOD out of a 91 Crown Vic. Had a transmission mechanic go thought it and said it was like new. He changed some seals and o-rings,gaskets. I installed it and added the Lokar TV cable and the adapter at the carb. work great! my speedometer is correct now .All is good

I don’t think my 91 AOD has what the link said. External screws?
