Mike,  Its the frames.  They looked like they had say in water.  Plus it looked like a heavy person had sat in them.  The frames were crumbling and bent.  The seat backs were good but I couldn't find just the bottoms.

Also getting these.

Using these as bases yes because my stock seat bottoms are rotted.  I will be recovering them but the original interior color is white.  I am really scared of doing white!! :chin: I'm a slob! lollerz

David, I'm buying all of this stuff from Scotty Strickland.  He will be there all weekend.  I think you gave me his name a while back.  He was going to sale me a full set of seat belts front rear and shoulder for $200 but the wife only gave me a $400 budget... :-)

Thanks guys. I plan on doing all the sanding, filling and priming myself. For the dents and a small rust repair I think I will take it to a local guy and pay him. Good to know about the date code David. I want to keep it as original as possible except the paint color.

Not a great pic.

My front drivers fender has a dent in the side towards the front that has gotten into the body line.  Would I be better off finding a good used fender or get a body man to get the dent out?  Just thinking about cost.  I'm thinking it is going to take a body man several hours to get the dent out...

Does the windshield and back glass have to come out in order to do the headliner?  I'm trying to get the interior finished before painting the car and hate to pull the glass out just to do a headliner.

So now that the car is running I want to get it drivable.  In order to do that I need to put the interior back in.  I don't want to paint the car right now and when I do I'm going to be doing a color change.  I should be able to paint without getting the interior messed up shouldn't I?  Will...

I am getting 2 deluxe seats but need recovering and the right and left rear side qtr panel for $400 this weekend at the Charlotte Auto Fair.  This is for my 72 Mach 1.  I think it is a good price but want to make sure.  Its $100 per seat and a $100 per side qtr panel trim.

How would I tell if the distributor was a tooth or 2 off?  I checked the order of the wires again and they are correct.  Would not having the vacuum advance hooked up cause a backfire?  The port on the cap is plugged.

I got the intake gasket replaced and made sure it doesn't leak.  I put new plug wires on and made sure they were routed to the proper cylinder.  The car idles good but has a miss and a backfire when I rev it up.  Where is the first place to start troubleshooting?  A friend said that a backfire...
