Or get some trash bags. Put the parts in the bags, get the air out and tie the bags off. Then use some of the spray can expansion foam to fill the voids in the box.

I have had good success refreshing horns with an ultrasonic cleaner. A little Dawn dish soap in the water and a couple of hours buzzing away and a lot of the rust and dust buildup flushes right out. Shake them out well and let them dry a few days and you should see some improvement.

First thing is to invest in some good jack stands and floor jack. Mustangs are heavy, and gravity likes 'em. A floor jack (or scissor jack) alone is not safe when you are crawling around under a car. Stamped steel really isn't the best option for jack stands - I've seen the holes for the pins...

How badly are they cut up?

Did the repop come with a squirrel cage attached? Sometimes either the motor spins in the wrong direction or the blades on the cage are backwards. Compare it to your original motor for both direction and fan blade arrangement.

You can't see the material inside the hose, you can't see the quality of the crimp on the hose ends (will they hold pressure), you can't see how the internals will respond to temperature. It's like taking a rubber coolant hose and trying to use it for fuel. It will dissolve or rupture before...

The thing about driving any of these old cars is maintenance. If the car has been conscientiously maintained - and by that I mean every part of the car, not just oil changes. Things like suspension and steering linkage bushings and ball joints replaced when worn or old, gearshift linkage...

Do the alignment first. Toe, caster and camber have a lot of effect on steering feel.
