Getting some parts together for the regional Shelby/Mustang/Ford show in the N. GA mtns in less the 2 weeks but have one question. One of the items I have is a PS cooler that I picked up a while ago with the intention of using it but my car runs so well with the standard set up I will not mess with it. I want to put some fresh paint on it but wondering were they black or another finish when produced?

You can only put that on your car if you have the correct PS pump bracket, which will have a tapped hole for the mounting screw and a hole for the tab on the cooler.
I know this because I just had a cooler given to me that was part of a deal for a pump I redid for a friend. The pump bracket had these holes, but the one on my car, did not, so I couldn't fit the cooler to my car without reworking the bracket.
That is doable, but could be a pita. I gave him back the cooler. It was a semi gloss black by the look of it from what paint was still on it.

EDIT: Sorry, if the picture of the PS cooler you have was there before, I didn't look at it. I was thinking of the cooler for the 351 (as in Boss) without A/C.

Hi to all,

As said above, black is the go. Satin semi gloss or matt black are both acceptable. I shot mine in satin lacquer. Lacquer is the go to paint, as you can spray or pencil touch up the cooler if needed later on without any fuss or trouble.

See my pic below as a basic reference in regards how i mounted my original factory ps cooler to the upgraded aftermarket Classic Air compressor. My engine was a stock original 302 Windsor without factory air, when i bought the car back in 2011.

Cheers,
Greg.:)
