    Cleveland contemplation....

In looking around for a C6 cross member, I see different years stated for what look like identical parts. I see some listed as '69-'70, some as '71-'73 and some as '69 - '73. Did Mustangs use the same cross member for a C6 in a Mustang from '69 through '73 or are there 2 different ones?

    IDing/Dating a Cleveland

Looked at L/H head and it has a 9J11 date code on it. That would be 1969 September 11. Funny that they're 2 months apart to the day and wound up on the same engine. I still haven't had a chance to get to the block codes yet.

    IDing/Dating a Cleveland

Ok, based on that... the best sense I can make of what I saw was I was reading the 1176 upside down.... looking at it from the other direction would make it 9L11... So that would be 1969 November 11.... right?

    IDing/Dating a Cleveland

Got my barn find complete 4V Cleveland drug home and getting a look-see at it now. Pretty dusty/dirty outside from sitting in the back corner of a shop for many years but took off a valve cover and it's almost spotless inside. Topside of head painted silver. Has fixed rocker arms. Has...

    Cleveland contemplation....

I'd like to have an OD, but I've had a GV O/U before and wasn't too enamored with it. I'd be hard pressed to spend that kind of money again after my prior experience with one. I've discussed doing the AOD swap with two different local transmission guys and both of them are pretty discouraging of it.

    Cleveland contemplation....

I went ahead and took the deal on the Cleveland. After doing so the thought of motor mounts and a recollection of discussion on here about new 73 mounts being hard to come by sprang into my head. My mounts were replaced 1,500 miles ago and I was immediately concerned I might not be able to...

71/72 engine mounts bracket vs 73

All this makes me happy that my 73 had new mounts put in 1,500 miles ago back in 2005 when I guess you could still get them. Only reason I know they were done is I have the shop ticket in all my paperwork that came with the car.

    Every car has a story...

I did learn another piece of the story. The son told me his dad did actually buy it in Dearborn, flew to Detroit to take delivery, then drove it back home to Dallas arriving late on a Friday night. The son remembered being up early on Saturday morning driving for the first time before the sun...

    Wheel Tire Package

Feels good in corners, brakes great. The car's steering is loose and now that's more pronounced. The road walk above 60 mph will keep you busy.... Got to look into adjusting the steering box if it'll help.

    Wheel Tire Package

Ok, tire shop screwed up. They had me scheduled for my install this morning only to arrive and find out the BFG Comp 2's for the rear were not ordered last week. Rather than trailer back home and try again I elected to punt... We looked over the inventory to see what sizes they had in matched...

    Wheel Tire Package

Both those set ups look great, thanks for the pics. My constraint at the moment is the wheel I've chosen only comes in 7" and 8" widths. I looked at going to a 265/40R18 rear tire but they're telling me I need a wider rim for that tire. I do plan on dropping the car about an inch front and...
