I found this. The TBird spindles don't swap onto the Mustang, but the TBirds brakes will bolt onto the Mustang spindles. The adapters the others mentioned are the caliper mounting brackets, which IIRC have the same 4 bolt pattern on the TBird as the backing plate holes on Mustang drum spindles...

Hey everything I've read says that the 69 70 mustang spindles are the same as ours. Is this true. Also what other cars besides the cougars would have our spindles.

I had a similar problem and it was driving me nuts. Turns out the brake booster was the vacuum leak. I would disable your and see if the symptoms go away.

If anything I think the pump would be whats going. The noise was only there at idle and I got it to completely go away yesterday just before it left a giant oil slick in my driveway.

Its low transmission fluid. One of my cooler lines has a hole in it so no matter how much i put in it's not enough. Does anyone know where to get a new one or am i going to have to make one?

My 72's trans currently has trouble getting into 3rd. Also the tranny is making a noise that is most similar to a bad power sterring pump. Any ideas on whats going on?

Does any one know how to short the fuel gauge? I'm trying to determine if its the gauge or the wiring that is bad. I have already verified that the IVR is working.

I'm going to have a closer look today. According to guy i spoke to the front clip was untouched by the fire and he also said the guy who sold it to him wasn't on the property when the car went up so i'm assuming it burned itself out. I'm assuming its a wesrtern car since i'm in nevada but we'll see.
