    It looks like the seat cover can be repaired as the thread has broken or rotted. If you turn it inside out, you should be able to re-sew the pieces together. Make sure all the hog rings are removed from the upholstery and the listing wires.

    Mine was easy, it came off with the rotted to death trunk floor. ;) You could use some engine cleaning brushes wrapped in scotch brite or sandpaper to scuff out the rust. Finish with phosphoric acid wash, rinse, blow dry and paint with rust encapsulator paint of your choice.

    The cutoff date for the 1 pc to 2 pc changeover was 5/2/1972. If you're not certain of the actual date, vintage or originality of the engine, then I'd buy both and return the unneeded set. Summit Racing has a very liberal return policy.

    The default failure position for the AC system is defrost. Before replacing any parts, you need to verify that there is vacuum going to the control head in the dash. No vacuum, nothing will work. You should be able to hear the system doing *something* if there is vacuum present.
