    ’71 Mach 1 Resto Project

Thanks, It feels like it is getting close but then it feels so far away at the same time, haha. I took a picture of it yesterday and one of my sons pointed out that it almost exactly matched one of the first pics we took as far as positioning. When I looked at both pictures, I found it...

    ’71 Mach 1 Resto Project

I applied my VIN decal on the driver's door today. After I die and my wife is selling it, someone will be looking at this nice Wimbledon White with black stripes and black interior car. They will open the door and discover... It was originally green with a green interior. Yes it was, but...

    ’71 Mach 1 Resto Project

Sorry if I was unclear, I didn't mean to mislead you. When I replied to your post, I posted some older pics from a year or so earlier to show my car when it was at the stage that your car was, at that time. Thanks, it is far from finished but it is coming along pretty well. At least it is...

Thanks, I think they fit just right. I appreciate all of the input I received from members when I started a thread about what size wheels and tires to get months ago. Of course, there were many opinions, but it seemed the most popular combination was the 245/60s all around. This confirmed my...

Parts For Sale 14 x 7 Ford Magnum 500s for sale

I have the 14 x 7 Ford Magnums that were on my car when I bought it for sale. They appear to be 1970 production date? I am sorry but I am not good at decoding the part numbers as a lot of you guys are. That is why I took pictures for anyone who is interested to see for themselves. I know they...

Thank you. Yes, I am planning to add the front spoiler, I really like the look of them on our cars. I still need to work on adjusting the fit of the front valence and install the bumper, once it has been painted, before I buy and install the front spoiler though.

    ’71 Mach 1 Resto Project

I moved out of the body shop yesterday, or as I like to say "got evicted" haha. My friend Mike doesn't like the joke, he said no one evicted me. I took the new wheels over there yesterday morning and installed them in place of the 14x7s. IMO, it made a huge difference in the stance of the car...

Thanks, I sprang for the Wheel Vintiques made in the USA wheels over the cheaper China wheels. I threw up a little in the back of my mouth a bit when I paid for them, but I am happy as a clam now that they are here. The chrome quality is really good!

    ’71 Mach 1 Resto Project

My new wheels and tires arrived today! I can't wait to install them and see how they fill the wheel wells!:D I had to clean the blue off of the raised white letters right away! My running horse center caps are with the car at the body shop, so I will have to install those tomorrow morning...

    Steering Wheel Club

I agree any deterrent is better than none. Most thieves don't want to work for it, they look for the easy mark. Any and all alarm systems or locks can be beat. When I managed a dealership the alarm company we used was owned by a former car thief who served three years and decided to go into...

Parts Wanted Need LH rear window trim (molding) for 71 fastback

I found the molding, it is not perfect it has a ding toward the bottom and some paint on the edge near the corner. My car came with two sets and this one looks like it may have been one of the originals from my car. I guess, I must have decided the other one was better condition, for some...

Thanks, I am happy with the sheen of the black. We did spray the underside at the back and wanted it to look like it was just blown in like the factory hoods. Unfortunately it has too good of coverage to look like the originals do. We have found it very hard to spray something that you are...

    Help with rear interior panels

It never ceases to amaze me how HemiKiller always knows the right answer and every detail of it. He is like an encyclopedia for Mustangs, he has answered some real head scratchers for me a few times. I have trouble remembering details of something that I am actively involved in, haha.

    Headliner question

No you would not glue the material to the weather strip rails, it is glued the the strips mounted inside of those rails. Mounted to the roof rail inner structure there are headliner retaining strips, mounted just inside the roof rail weather strip retainers. One mounts along the top of the door...

    ’71 Mach 1 Resto Project

I went back to the body shop and cleaned up my mess from yesterday. I got the Mustang out of the spray booth and swept it down really well so the painter can get back to work right away tomorrow morning. Before I did that, I took some pics of the car before and after I removed all of the masking...
