Thanks, I am a huge fan of the white and black combo too! I was tempted to paint it Grabber Blue for a while but I had a white 73 in high school that I always wished I didn't sell. Now I built another white and black one, one more thing off the bucket list, haha.

Congrats on your retirement! The reassembly will be a great transaction activity, along with driving your wife insane. Yes, I am right down the street from Mokena and New Lenox, small world, haha.

That's awesome that they have started to make progress! Unfortunately, I have found that seems to be the standard with body shops, they often take in these completes and use them as fillers between the production work that actually pays the bills for most of them. That's great that rvrtrash's...

    ’71 Mach 1 Resto Project

Early yesterday morning, still can't adjust and sleep past 5:00 am, I decided to finish the torque check on the suspension and do a deep cleaning of the components. I have about 400 miles on the car since it has been drivable, so I thought it was a good time to recheck that the fasteners are...

    The Name is Chuck

Welcome from Chicago! Good looking Mach, but then I must admit I am a bit biased toward Wimbledon white with black stripes, haha! There are some really knowledgeable guys here that are always willing to help.

    71 f100 4wd build

It's looking great! The cab is nice and solid, once you repair that mount area it will be good to go. I am a big fan of the bump-side F100's. If I did another build, I would like to build a 2WD short bed resto mod in the future. The frame sectioning looks like it is nice and strong and will hold...

PRIMER for e-coated floor pans ?

You can use that I am sure, I am not familiar with that product but it says it has some weather resistance. Fortunately, ours cars are probably never going to see the elements they lived in for their first few decades of life ever again. I like to overkill, I seal mine up as best I can so they...

PRIMER for e-coated floor pans ?

I would rough up the e-coat with a red scotch-brite pad very well so whatever product you use adheres properly, first. I would recommend using an epoxy primer first, you do not need to strip down to bare metal to spray with epoxy primer. It is commonly used when the metal is stripped bare...

    ’71 Mach 1 Resto Project

Funny, but I am in discussion with someone about a Grabber blue convertible, he is talking about letting it go over the winter and we are discussing the terms. Only time will tell, haha. This car has been restored which is not my MO but it was done pretty well.

    ’71 Mach 1 Resto Project

Thanks, I am very happy with the color choice, although I really love the Grabber blue/ argent combo of your car. I flip-flopped back and forth between the Grabber Blue and the Wimbledon White for about a year. I finally decided on the white/black combo in a tribute of sorts to the 73 Mach 1...

I understand, room for them is always a challenge. Let me know if you are taking your Stang to any shows maybe even south of you where it could be a sort of middle point and I can try to meet you at one.

    ’71 Mach 1 Resto Project

Definitely not my 73 then, mine was purchased here in Chicago. I bought it from the original owner around 1980 and sold it in 1985. I heard about five years ago, that the guy I sold it to had it fully restored and still owned it at that time. If you said you bought your car in the southwest...

1973 Mach 1 FB Marketplace barn find

I can't help wondering back in 1971-73, what dealership ordering manager or customer for that matter said: "I can have the way cooler hood for no added cost as a free option with the base engine? No thanks." At no extra cost, it is hard to believe that there was even one car that was ordered...
