    Good NACA hood hinge?

@71-429Mach1 Maybe worth a try before hit piggy bad. For my 71 429 with the full ram air I had the same problem. About 3 years ago, when I've restored them, I've noticed the rivets made of some hard brass like metal were having some play. Made of unobtainium on this side of the pool replacing...

    Fabrice's 429CJ 71 project

Thank you @Kilgon I've discovered this warm reply yesterday. I haven't been much on the forum lately and you're right, it's been too long! Lots have changed in my life past year and my mustang weekend time has been reduced, until past weekend where I've resumed activities as usual... Not...

    Fabrice's 429CJ 71 project

Another busy weekend passed... Let's start by a lucky event. As I was busy stripping the car interior and finding only dirt, little screws and even shells of snails (go figure)... I know my friend (the previous owner) looked for the precious build sheet with no success and I was already...

B Pillar sheet avail or die??

@Steve McMahan, I've looked and there's no B-pillar offered on their site, searched for other models known to have similar pillars in the hope to see something I could partially use... nope. @rio1856, As said above, so far it looks like there is no fresh metal available for this part for any...

1971 FORD 429 4V and Transmission for sale

as a side note, I'm not THAT old, but I don't know why people assume old people have light right feet!! :D I actually met a mature lady with a 429 t-bird at a meeting a few years back and she told me that she really loved the way it was accelerating...

B Pillar sheet avail or die??

Hi all, As the picture bellow suggests, my passenger B Pillar needs some "refurbishing"... I can/could cut and try reproduce the complex shape with multiple pieces of sheetmetal the best I can. but before I use my scalpel: Are there repops for these available? Haven't seen any... For Mustang...

    Fabrice's 429CJ 71 project

Time for a little update! Did lots of things in past weekends, but one really needed be done before cold/rainy days return: finish my door! So now that the shell, the inner skin were fixed, it was time to close the sandwich once more. I've started first by reinstalling the 2 bolting plates...

Help me understand 3 things please...

@Sheriff41 thx for the reply. It's not because it was wrongly installed or better said not because I did not install it the right way. You can't really go wrong if you indeed have the bushing and the 2 washers with the pin. But as I said, I was suspecting the rod end from the Leed booster to be...

Help me understand 3 things please...

Hi All, Been busy in past days (will update my thread soon) Came across 3 things. First on my 71, where i'm currently busy removing the interior: 1: how do you remove the fold down? There are 4 bolts on the front, 2 on each side and after removing these I couldn't do the expected: remove it...

    New engine new vibration

Wow, good you inspected, aside vibs, that’s a quick trans pump killer! I use a 2.5k stall speed lock hugues for my cleveland/AOD and have no issues. It did make whinning noise when upshiting in overdrive under heavy load during the first hundred miles. Then gradually stop doing it. Since then...

    Time to restore

bits late to the party, I run a 4v/efi/350 gear 9 inch track lock/ 400ish healthy cleveland with the AOD I've rebuilt 2 years ago and it's almost ideal. I say almost because if I'd do it again, I'd likely go for a non lock 2500TS converter vs a locked 2500TS one. The lock works great and is...

    AC Blower speed

Was the new one of exact same dimension/radius? If the gap is too big, even a few mmm, the air flows around the blades and there is no pressure to push/pull it somewhere

    Boss price

The text alone is a delightful read! :D There is one poor ******* who saved for years for his dream mach 1, totally noob in the hobby and blinded by the freshly printed "official" papers that will buy it and will probably be proud of himself to have managed to get 10k off the asking price...

Which 1971 engines came with the C6

@c9zx On both my 429/C6 and 351/FMX, the rear light and safety switches are in the shifter assembly. How does that work when mounted to trans? Activated by the trans lever? Never seen this.

    timing chain very tired

When I bought my 73 back in 86, with 40k something, it was running real bad, really irregular idle. One of the (many) probs was the chain. Somehow Ford had installed some kind of nylon gears and the day I changed it, it broke into my hands when I tried to pull it out. It was really cooked. So...
