What ever happened to Halloween, Thanksgiving and then Christmas

Waaay too much, waaay too soon. Can't the commercial greed be held off until a little bit closer to Christmas. Ok I know, Bah Humbug!!

Thanks, but it went in the garbage today and now long gone.

    C7 AF-11450-A1 Solenoid

To conclude this post, thanks to everyone who has chipped in. With more info, I/we now know the Motorcraft solenoid is available, but I still have to wonder, is it US made?? It really is a shame that so much 'stuff' we buy hoping it is at least North American made, is actually made elsewhere...

    C7 AF-11450-A1 Solenoid

Interesting information; SW7663 is D2AF-11450-AA and is more available under that number IF you don't care about correct part numbers. There are a few Canadian distributors, but again, pricy due to exchange and shipping. At least this gives us a different part number. Believe it or not, I found...

Thank you. I'll check that number and see what shakes out. I still wonder though, is it US made??

    C7 AF-11450-A1 Solenoid

Thanks again for all the replies. I appreciate the help. If I want a good quality solenoid, I'll likely have to suck it up and pay the ridiculous extra costs, but like everyone, less expensive is always the hope.

Thanks John, I'll let you know if I choose that option.

Thanks again. Good info, but see my reply to Hemikller. We're getting screwed here in Canada with shipping and exchange rates killing us.

Thanks. Again the issue is shipping. Ebay International shipping is more than the cost as well as I have to consider exchange at 40%. I used to have a drop ship box in Michigan, but since the ferry across the river closed, that has gone by the wayside. However, if I have to I will consider this...

    C7 AF-11450-A1 Solenoid

I was hoping for a Motorcraft one from my local Ford dealership. I can check other Ford dealers near me. They might be readily available in the US, but not in Canada. Unfortunately buying in the US and shipping it here will make it expensive. Thanks for the reply.

    C7 AF-11450-A1 Solenoid

Thanks. That part shows as unavailable on Amazon.ca, but I printed off the specs to look further into it. I'm in no rush at present as the one I just bought today will get me through till next season, but I DO want to get a (hopefully) better one.

    C7 AF-11450-A1 Solenoid

I went to start the old gal today and found the starter solenoid was shot and had also killed my battery. I went to my local Ford dealership as they sometimes have NOS parts in stock, but no solenoid. I was hoping for something that was NOT made in China. I was able to buy a Chinese solenoid...

    The Mach-A-Reina build thread

May be easier just to drop the driveshaft to access the tunnel clips. Fuel line goes along the outer rocker, so that's easy..... er!

Replacing the front springs on my 1971 Mustang

Sounds good and glad to have helped. Don't replace what doesn't need to be. By the way, see if the original paint daubs are still on the springs. That will tell you the spec code.

    The Mach-A-Reina build thread

Here is a pic from my car when I stripped it for an engine rebuild. You can see the trans rod on the manual trans. You can also see the weird rubber hose in question, red arrow. Green arrow ?, blue arrow is the rod in question.

    The Mach-A-Reina build thread

Hi, I'm just catching up on this thread. Welcome from SW Ontario Canada and another 71 Mach 1 owner. I bought my car in LA and totally rust free. I got very lucky, but still had a ton of stuff to fix or upgrade over the years, 16 now. There is all the wisdom and knowledge you could ever want on...

Replacing the front springs on my 1971 Mustang

I wasn't able to find the specs I thought I had on hand, but just looking at your pic showing 15 1/4", the coils look perfect to my old eyes. If both springs match each other, then a good clean up, repaint, add new everything else and put 'em back in. That's just my thoughts on this, but I would...
