    Vinnie’s garage

Well, the rest of my floor is now done! Took a while because we were also renovating at home and we went on vacation blah blah blah. Here's what happened the last couple of months: Delivery for Vinnie! With all the metalwork out of the way all that's left is the wood work for the actual...

    Rubber window seals, anyone?

Hmmm, I’d like to get rid of the clips etc. Modern cars don’t have clips either right? What dothey put around the windows?

    Rubber window seals, anyone?

Hey folks, Has anybody ever tried putting a rubber seal around the front and/or rear window instead of the standard trim? I'd like to get rid of the shiny trim and clips and use something more modern. Does anything like this exist at all? Cheers, Vincent.

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

So after a few months of doing other things (construction in my garage and at home) I now have time again to work on the car. This means continuing with the boring welding job on the roof.... So turned crap into less crap: And some more: Isn't it great to see all those holes disappear...

    Vinnie’s garage

Garage update! I have done almost nothing on my car the past months for several reasons. One of them is that I am extending the floor in my garage. Because the garagedoor slides all the way up I initially couldn't build the floor against the front wall, have a look: It's hard to believe...

    What is this thing?

Side question: What are the "sources" for water in your drop off? I guess a bad trunk rubber is one of them. Are there more?

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

Fair points! I think I’d do the same in your case. Just be careful with that support part underneath. Look for the spot welds and grind them out first and don’t cut into it 😎

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

So, happy new year ya'll! I just saw I never showed how that dent in the previous post was fixed. Well, in the end I cut a huge hole like so: ... and I patched it like this: After this I happily continued fixing the holes left by the vinyl roof: and even further along the back...

Replacing battery mount area of fender skirt

I did this a while ago, story in my build thread: https://7173mustangs.com/threads/slowest-resto-ever-project-amsterfoose-current-subject-the-roof.32693/page-12 The biggest pain for me was actually the support strip running underneath the top of the panels coz it's spot welded on the battery...

Rear window frame is gone. How to replace/fix?

I watched the video, thanks for that. I guess I'm going to have te peel off the outer skin inside the channel carefully as it's rusted against the inner skin badly. It's just gonna be a shitload of work I guess. On the upside it will give me more time to save money for other things that are...

Rear window frame is gone. How to replace/fix?

Howdo partypeople. Last weekend I removed the last remaining piece of glass; the rear window. I handled a lot of unpleasant surprises on my car but this one took the cake. The edge that the window lies against is 75% rotted away. Have a look: That edge is basically made up of the edges of...

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

Yea, that sucks donkey balls... I'm gonna let this sink in for a while before I do something about it. I suppose I could see if I can remove the structure behind it (and weld it back later). How do I stretch the metal back in shape? I wouldn't mind using a bit of filler but as it is now I'd...

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

I think the problem is that it has shrunk too much already so shrinking it more (using disk or studs) does not sound like the right solution?

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

Side job as a welder? Hmmmm, no thanks ;-) Had a crappy day, welding-wise. On the driver's side C pillar I had a shrinkage dent from welding in my quarter. Since I now also had to patch a rusted area I thought I'd try to fix the dent as well. So I cut out the patch and also made some cuts to...

    English wheel one curve only

OK, slightly different question then. I created a rectangular panel, curved in one direction. Like so: It needs to get a little crowne lengthwise to match the roof. I tried using the english wheel but if anything it curved the wrong way like this: How can I get crown in this thing...
