Installing a NASA scoop fiberglass hood w/functional RAM air

Looking at the gaps along the sides the hood isn't in straight which could cause the drivers side to look shorter? Apart from this it looks pretty good. Thanks for sharing your findings with us!

Gap between tail panel and trunk floor

This is an old thread folks, the panel has been in for a while now ;-) Gap became a lot smaller after using a bit of massaging here and there.

    Welding floor onto rocker

I have used rivets on my quarter panel but I'll entertain the thought of using selftapers ok? ;-)

    Welding floor onto rocker

Thanks for the tips guys! So start with the frame rails, rockers last, might use screws too. Cheers!

    Welding floor onto rocker

Hey folks, Soon I'll be starting to weld in my floors. I'm thinking about first welding the floor pans to the rocker. To do this I'd like to put a clamp on the lip of the floor before I put in the plug welds but the rocker is round... Anybody have a bright idea on how to put a clamp on this...

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

Alrighty, last post about subframe connectors (I hope...). Finally finished the LH side today: Welding those 2 plates to the side of the rear subframe rails is just friggin hard if your car is on the floor... They look crap but I do believe they have good penetration so it should be OK...

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

Alrighty, time for another update! One night last week I trimmed the RH floorpan a bit so that I could testfit it on top of the RH subframe connector to see if that was sitting right. That went well and this weekend I welded in the RH connector. I wanted to keep the welding to a minimum because...

Home brew subframe connectors - pt 2

Thanks again for all the ideas and photo’s. I had a chat with the designer of my connectors and he reckons they only need welding in the yellow area and not in the red area. The GW’s also connect on a relatively small area so I guess he is right. More welding is not necessarily better…

Home brew subframe connectors - pt 2

Thanks for your ideas guys, is the torque box alright for welding angles or gussets onto it? The angle or gusset would be pulling the torque box skin in a way it doesn't really support, no?

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

Subframe connectors are done! All the angels needed to be 174 degrees. To make them fit inside the front frame rails, a 3mm thick plate was welded on either side of the connectors front. Welding them into the front frame rails will be straightforward. The back not so much... See...

Home brew subframe connectors - pt 2

Hey folks, As some of you may know I am creating my own subframe connectors from a plan I found on this website: - https://dazecars.com/dazed/sub-frame.html It's not very hard but after test fitting I reckon all angles need to be 74 degrees (instead of the 70's). I am now testfitting a second...

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

Howdo folks, time for a small update. Not much happened coz I was on vacation. Spent time in Germany, Austria, Slovenia and Croatia. It was bloody hot... Back to my car, I'm 3.5 years into my 10 year restoration plan and I'm starting to see the end of welding in big parts. Better even is that...

    Auto-Know-Better....1300hp and a Sticky Throttle...on the street.

This makes me want to put a roll cage in my car. I could then also install a 4 point harness. In the video, the guy mentions putting in an electronic e-brake but have you ever tried enabling that while driving? I think a manually operated e-brake is a safer backup.

Pfff, no posts for over a month... What's been happening (apart from being quarantained for 9 days due to Covid...)? I de-rusted the sides of the RH seat riser that touch the floor in phosphoric acid. : After cleaning it up I primed it so it won't rust for a while. Oh, and I patched that cut...

    Lower Cowl Repair Question

I went in exactly the same but I put in a new bottom patch without a hole coz I don't need it with aftermarket airco. If I did need a hole and a hat I'd have fabricated it myself.

Living with Vette instead of Stang

You are just trying to make us feel better about you getting that car, right? ;-) I really wanted one once. Then at a car show I asked if I could try one on. I'm 6'4. Now I'm looking for pickups more :-)

    subframe connectors and speed humps

Howdo folks. I'm home with bloody covid so I can't do much else but research stuff. I came across this website: - https://dazecars.com/dazed/sub-frame.html Anybody build a set of these? Any experiences you wanna share? I think I'll make some myself, saves a lot of money! Cheers, Vincent.

Slowest resto ever - Project AmsterFoose / Current subject: The rear window edge

This weekend I had 2 goals. 1) Remove the driveshaft. Not very hard, it weighed a LOT less than I thought! I did not have bearings falling out of the U-joint or oil running out of my C6. The whole thing was a lot less eventful as expected. 2) I wanted to start ripping out the floor...
