Accelerator and kick down cables not lining up

I have an FMX trans and there is a special bracket that you need to install if you had a 2 barrel and are converting to a 4 barrel. I can take a pic of mine but I believe I got it from NPD for under $20 or so. Good luck. Tom

TMI one piece headliner install help

I left mine in. They did not get in the way or seem to put the one-piece headliner in an strange or out of place position. Tom

    Stronger/tighter throttle return springs

Gilbert, (mrgmhale), (I hope I am correct with your name, if not, I apologize), thank you for your response and the videos. I really appreciate it and have been watching your videos on YouTube. Great job on providing these for those of us that love this year group. Tonight I worked on my 351...

    Stronger/tighter throttle return springs

Thanks Don, the cable feels like it moves pretty smooth now but will take another look. Anyone got the correct specs and part number for the cable if I need one? Thanks. Tom

    Stronger/tighter throttle return springs

Thank you Geoff for the pics and explanation. Hemi, thank you as well, I will check those things and the geometry tonight when I get to the car. I appreciate all of the assistance for everyone and hopefully will be driving it soon. Tom

    Stronger/tighter throttle return springs

Thank you for the response, very good information and I will check those things. I just picked up a return spring set at the local O'Reilly's and will check to see if my throttle cable is causing the issue first by disconnecting it and checking for binding. I have checked for vacuum leaks and...

    Stronger/tighter throttle return springs

So I have been working on my 73 Mach 1 351 Cleveland tuning. The engine is a 2v H code that is freshly rebuilt. New Pistons are flat top 30 over, new lifters, and Elgin E-954-P cam. I installed an Edelbrock Performer 2750 intake and Summit Racing 750 carb last weekend. After setting the initial...

    Door weatherstripping question.

I used the same 3M adhesive that Kilgon used and it worked well. But man is it messy, to me, it's seems too thin. Also, my weatherstripping was a couple inches too long as well. After adding the adhesive, I used painter's tape to hold it in place and since the end did not line up with factory...

    ’71 Mach 1 Resto Project

Great job on the breather and rear brakes. Since my rear breather hose was only about 1 1/2 inches when I started working on mine, do you have a pic of where the hose leads to? Thanks. Tom

What did you do to your car today?

Thanks, that is the part number that I got this time. I appreciate the response, just reinstalled it. Will hopefully get the distributor and carb back in place later today, depending on if the rain holds off. I am working under a carport, so the weather can be a pain sometimes. Tom

    Brake Booster Rebuild kit

I bought the same one about a year or so ago and installed it a few months ago. I finally got around to bleeding the brakes last month. Brakes bled well but I need to adjust the pedal travel a little more, so I will be pulling the MC for adjustment in the next week or so. Good luck. Tom

What did you do to your car today?

Removed my new Summit carb and new Edelbrock Performer 2750 intake manifold because it leaked like a sieve, Turns out the gasket set O'Reilly's sold me was for a Windsor motor. Got the new gasket set and will be re-installing this weekend hopefully. Tom

    Electrical issue in engine circuit

KCMASH, sorry you are going through so many issues now but I am following this thread closely. After going through my brakes and purging all of the air in the bleeding process, after the car is running, my new power brakes seem to go a lot lower and have less firmness to them as well. Good luck...

    Ok what is it

Hey Jason, I think the black can is for the AC vacuum. At least that is how I hooked mine up. Good luck. Tom

    dropping in new engine

I put my 351C in without the long tube headers on, went in very easy. Then installed the headers. Passenger side took about 5 minutes, the driver's side took longer because my headers required a little ding put in one of the runners to fit around the steering gearbox. Good luck. Tom

Trunk lid will not stay open

Sorry for the late response, I just checked mine and on the left side of the trunk, my torsion bar is in the notch closest to the rear of the vehicle. It was originally in the middle and I made a tool and moved it to the rear notch. Have not had an issue with the trunk lid since. There is a pic...

Trunk lid will not stay open

When I added my rear spoiler, I had the same issue. I had to use a piece of pvc to hold the lid up. I moved the torsion rod from the further front notch to (I think) the middle and it was fine after that. I can verify later tonight that I moved it to the middle notch though. Tom

Factory Tac and fuel gauge not working

Thanks for the replies. The distributor is a “plain jane” duralast brand from autozone. Still uses the point style ignition and rotor and regular small cap. I have the wire from the gauge harness plugged into the coil, not sure if positive or negative right this moment (i’m at work but will...
