What did you do to your car today?

I will repair it. All of my new cars (usually buy them 1-2 years old) are and were salvage. This Mustang not that bad compared to what I had to deal with with some. It might not be a car that is valuable to others with rebuilt tile, but it will be valuable to my boys and I with the time we will...

What did you do to your car today?

New to me. Was southern car for all of its life and unfortunately had fo go through salty wet roads. Will be undergoing extensive undercarriage and body wash. After that will store it untill have time to rebuild with my kids. Now both boys will have one mustang each after I kick the bucket.

What did you do to your car today?

Picked up my second baby 850mi away from home. And gave it good salt bath towing through snow in the Virginian mountains and snow in the west Michigan. Surprisingly and thankfully 3.5 twin turbo Explorer did very well with 5,500 behind it through Appalachian mountains.

Found a low miles 73 mach 1 for sale close by. Looking for advice for when I go to check it out.

In midwest you can only buy coupe or convertible for 17k in that condition. Mach1 in that condition are going around 22 - 24k. If restored nicely, around 30k and up. For Mach 1, low teens you can get a rust bucket. 20k solid car metal with trash paint and interior.

Took apholstry off the back seat to clean up frame and put in new padding (something I still have to come up with). Fortunately wires and supporting mash are in good condition, only need padding - maybe 1" foam and cotton.

    73 H code Convertible Build

I picked up my convertible late summer 2022. Decided instead of rebuilding new salvage vehicles (for my own use), it's time to invest my work into something that will hold value, with how much time I spend perfecting things. Car has original 351c2v with C6 transmission and all original premium...

What is your tire size and are those original lug nuts ? I was contemplating if I should put tires with white letters out to brake up that large sidewall. Most likely will once I finish restore with all of my wheels

Sounds like ceramic coating. If it is/works the same, it will last few years when not used often and will keep it looking new. Had ceramic coat my sports car which sees daily use in summer - a must if you have black paint and and it to look good.

Are you planning to drive it in the snow or salty roads? OEM (atleast 73 style) were not clear coated. I plan on buffing once a year. I painted wheels in the past. Finish is fragile compared to factory finish and that's with sanding to get better bite, while you have to go over smooth. Mounting...

    72 Mach 1 Q code cobra jet !

Probably depends on what you build. Force induction and nitrous definitely open heads and low compression. OC need domed / poped pistons to achieve good dynamic comp ratio (get it to mid 7s) for all out NA motor. They both have positives, jut takes more to make Q to reach full potential.

This is the sandpaper wheel I used (from Napa) stick on surface for sandpaper with adhesive. Sanding wheel has foam, so I was able to do concave surface of the wheel.
