I made the same mistake. Actually used some of it to fill the gap between the package tray and the rear window. Turned out pretty good. Looks finished.

Just replaced mine using a seat belt. Worked well, but you do have to put some muscle behind it.

I like this idea. The radiator support is not very flat behind the headlight ... has raised contours. How did you get around that when mounting the MSD? I do notice the headlight box, itself, is very flat on the bottom and wondered about that spot.

The heat riser was from a 2V motor.

The car had black interior, PS, PB, AC, no tach. Note: the AC parts were not original to this car, so unsure what year.

All, sorry this is so delayed. Didn’t have the topic set up to notify. Yes, this setup is still working fine. Granted, I haven’t put a lot of miles on yet. But it’s never failed to start, and I’ve taken a few 50 mile round trips with no ignition issues.
