    1971 In AZ

Oh I believe it, if I hadn't already committed to the one I have I would 100% went and looked at it. That's awesome, didn't realize he was a member! I was looking at a 70 cougar a few years ago that originally had a 351c, had been replaced with a 302. Came out of a fairmont....so I had...

    1971 In AZ

Found this browsing around for cars I won't be buying. Under the hood looks fresh but seems like a pretty steep price for a car without the original motor/trans. Later model 302 could be out of anything. https://offerup.com/item/detail/d5bfecbb-caec-3fcf-901d-58377b780910?cid=5.1

    Rebuild Update

Yep thats the case with this shop. They go to the same machine shop for all of the work they need done. The shop pulled/disassembled, and sent everything off to him for the machine work. From what I understand that machine shop isn't taking public work, just from a couple shops he has built a...

    Rebuild Update

That's fantastic. I know its a slow process. I wish I had the skills to tackle the engine build. Bought the 73 in may of '22. Picked up a weekend job to supplement the build since my weekends to work on it were now free because of the unscheduled rapid disassembly. Was able to stash away 15k or...

    Rebuild Update

20 months makes me feel a little better. I'm getting a little impatient over here but that puts it into perspective. The saving grace is that I have seen the work the shop does so I know it will be correct, just didn't anticipate waiting this long.

    Rebuild Update

Still in the machine shop. Salty doesn't begin to describe it but its not like I can make them go faster. I know it being worked on because parts have been ordered, but no updates yet.

    Hood Locks

Oh okay I gotcha. Yeah I was trying to cross reference my stuff with the repro kit video from NPD. The bracket was installed when I got the car, I have been doing a ton of other things so never really looked into it until last night when I was putting the hood scoop insert back on.

    Hood Locks

I searched through some old threads on here regarding the OEM hood locks but didn’t find what I needed. These came in a bag with the car. I could be wrong but am I only missing the backer plate that goes underneath the locking mechanism?

    Idle hands hood fix

While I am waiting for the motor and tranny to get back from the machine shop, I figured I would knock out something that has been on the to do list for a while. My hood (not the original one to the car), was covered in surface rust. Saw a YT video of a guy with a nova that had the same problem...

    1972 Sprint Arizona

Found this looking for some parts on Marketplace. I am no appraiser but 15k seems quite quite steep. Runs and drives, although only has 2 tires...

    Rebuild Update

We love progress! I waited about 4 months for a space in this shop to open up, and I think it is well worth the wait. Especially after talking to a couple other local places, definite peace of mind at this one. Working 60+ hours a week for the past year to be able to fund this, so seeing it...

    Rebuild Update

Restoration shop was able to tear down my 351 this weekend so figured I would update those that were interested! Tranny is also all cleaned up and rebuilt. I’ve included all the pictures I was sent, as well as the texts I received from the shop. Nothing I didn’t expect to be honest. Could be...

    Towing problem

Hagerty is the one that dispatched the tow truck. Or I guess "Hagertys Driver Club". I requested to use the company my shop uses, but they said all of theirs are licensed and are familiar with towing classics so they will dispatch one for me. So I guess technically the claim is through Agero...

    Towing problem

That is an absolute fact. The shop I am at already got most of the crease out with minimal work, but still wrote up an estimate for me to submit for the claim.

Pulling the trigger on my 351C rebuild

Been a while since I have been able to post any updates for those of you that were interested! She finally got into the shop after the very long wait for a spot to open. Motor and tranny have been pulled and on their way to the machine shop! The first thing that was done when she got in was...

    Towing problem

Very frustrating! Took me until this morning to to just let it go knowing it would get fixed, but obviously in the moment I was very irritated. Full faith in the shop that its at as they have a whole body side completely separate from the "restoration" side. Yes thank you!! She is up on the lift...

    Towing problem

Yep this was a ramp truck as well. Seems like the tow guy was in a hurry so unloading it had a strap get caught. But I finally just heard back from Hagerty after 3 different transfers, and they are having me get an estimate from the shop I am at to send over and are going to take care of it...

    Towing problem

I don't get it either, that just what the agent on the phone told me. They have companies they use and will dispatch them. But you are completely correct, it happened and it is what it is, I am obviously just being salty. I did call the company right away and of course went to voicemail with a...

    Towing problem

The only rust repair it needs is behind the rear tires, have 1 dime sized hole on each side. On the bottom of that is just surface and rubs off. It definitely needs paint as this is the original, and I know its not in pristine condition. I'm trying not to get too rattled, but besides cosmetics...
