Yep 100% coming out for a full rebuild. So i'll drain it and silicone it closed. Thanks for the advice!

    Storage Questions

Yep oil, stripped drain plug. Figured it would be easier to do an oversized plug when the motor is out rather than trying to line it up laying on the ground. With that RTV, should I let it cure before I screw it back in there?

    Storage Questions

Yeah definitely ethanol. 91 from the station down the street. Dang thats a pretty smart trick! Ideally it will only be sitting for another 6 months or so and then I will do the rebuild, but even then the fuel has already been in there a solid 3-4 months. So I think draining it the best I can is...

    Storage Questions

Oh I would be the only one that would start it. But nothing I have to worry about. Battery is on a charger in my office, and none of the plug wires are connected. These are 2 of the 4 bent pushrods. The next time it will be started is after it’s towed to the shop for the rebuild. Instead of...

    Storage Questions

Yep definitely going to drain the tank. I'll also undo the clamp holding the line connecting to the pump to get any left over in the line. The only reason I am going with a full rebuild is because I don't know the health of the motor overall. The PO said it had been rebuilt with one of the...

Yep have a tranny leak as well. Looks like its coming from the rear of the housing. It is coming out for a rebuild at the same time as the motor.

Easy! Much appreciated for the advice!

    Storage Questions

Didn't even register there was a drain plug on the bottom of the tank, I will look when I get home. I rebuilt the carb but with the rebuild I am going with an upgraded intake and a new carb so I am not worried about in in that sense. I know the PO ran some pretty varnished fuel through the lines...

    Storage Questions

I appreciate the response! However, she's definitely not running so all I can do is drain the tank. When I have the funds it will be pulled and get a complete rebuild at a mustang shop down the street from me. Until then it will be under a cover in my carport. I just didn't know the proper...

    Storage Questions

Beautiful ride. It shouldn't be too hard for me to drain the tank, I can borrow a siphon pump from a buddy. It is an oil leak, not a fuel leak. However It doesn't run so I don't think the fog would work. I have 3 bent pushrods and one that is missing, I am assuming it fell underneath the intake...

    Storage Questions

It is currently parked under a cover at my townhouse complex. The PO had it in his backyard and while there was some mouse poop on the intake, somehow I didn't find anything that had been chewed on. I don't think I will have any rodent issues now as its in a parking lot but I could be wrong?

    Storage Questions

Will do. I have caught most of it, just didn't want to attempt an oversize plug at the moment since it would be easier to do with the motor out. Talk about a waste. Hindsight I wish I would have known the motor health before changing the oil, rebuilding the carb, and adding fuel.

    Storage Questions

Hey gents, Kind of torn on what to do here. My 73 needs a motor rebuild, and is currently not running. The FMX trans will also get rebuilt at the same time. My plan was to have enough saved up to have it done by the end of November. As you all know life happens and at 34 I am going to be in the...

    Gas Cap Gasket

https://www.npdlink.com/product/gasket-fuel-cap/106665?backurl=search%2Fproducts%3Fsearch_terms%3D9030%252B1K%26top_parent%3D200001%26year%3D This is the one I ordered from NPD. Fit great on my 73. Absurd that it cost $12 to ship a $3 gasket, so I grabbed a couple other things to make it worth it.

    Seat Belt Fix

Yeah I didn't assume they were universal. I think I am going to go Steve's route for the time being, and swap the female ends from the back seat to the front. Then once those give up I can re-evaluate what route to go. Definitely will remember the Long C bracket detail when it comes to it though.

    Seat Belt Fix

That is pretty much exactly what mine look like, except for the frays. My belts are actually in great condition minus the missing button part. A salvage yard here in AZ wants $45 for each female end, which to me seems pretty steep but I could be way off. Never even occurred to me I could swap...

    Seat Belt Fix

Awesome info, thank you! I guess going by picture numbers, I need 1708. I don't have sleeves on either side, not a big deal for me. I swapped the passenger and driver side, since the passenger side would somewhat click in, just took a little force. Searched some recycler websites here in AZ...

    Seat Belt Fix

Yep I am good with a compromise, not something I am needing to keep "all-original". It came with 3 pt seatbelts, and really don't like the idea of having to buy a whole new kit just for the 2 buckle parts. I could always go junk yard diving but my chances of finding that seem slim.

    Seat Belt Fix

Yes sorry! I probably did a terrible job of explaining it since you all aren’t mind readers. One button on my belts is gone, and the other really just doesn’t want to function well. This is the replacement part from NPD, just won’t fit our year. So all my seatbelts work, there's just nothing for...

    Seat Belt Fix

Quick question for the group. I have 3 point seat belts that are in great shape. My issue is that the button clip for the lap belt is broken/missing. I saw there was a kit available for a 69-70 with just those pieces, but can't find one for our year. I would hate to have to replace the entire...
