    ignition issues

Just went through this; http://www.7173mustangs.com/thread-engine-won-t-stop-starting So there is a copper plated disc that connects the two sides of the solenoid and gives the starter AND the coil current when activated. What happens is the disc "welds itself stuck there" and the starter...

    Snapped thermostat-housing bolts

Those cheap chrome housings come with an oring but even using a gasket is a fail and will leak ask me how I know. Get a cast iron housing and use a gasket. Paul

    Removal of PCV

Snug is a good word to use. From the center outwards evenly. I am a fan of cork gaskets and no sealer however I use studs and nuts as apposed to bolts. Over-tightening will lead to leaks so less is more. It's only a valve cover and not a main cap let's not stress on this. Paul

    Alignment locks?

I think my research revealed neg 1/4D was ideal 1/2D would be OK. You can get 6 positions out of your lower lock bolt kit **IF** you flip the washers over according to instructions. I run stock eccentrics on all the fords I ever had and never had one slip however I don't road race the cars...

vacuum gauge on my 351 cleveland

Copy That! Now we need to know the condition of the engine. On a older engine I would be looking at the compression/valve train. Tests are in order and a visual on valve train. reminds me of a flat cam guessing here 4 sure Paul
