71-73 spotted in new TV show

Saw a Stumptown trailer but only saw the fox body Mustang the star of the show drives.....I'd have been impressed if it were a T-5 equipped car. On that note....a shame that manuals are becoming an endangered species.

starting to plan for a winter engine build

We considered a Blue Print crate engine a while back for our Maverick. I was under the impression that the guys from Hot Rod magazine used them in their Engine Masters series videos.  From what I recall they held up in testing and dynoed what they were rated for, if not more. Concerning you...

The more I look, the worse it gets...

Definitely not the way I would build it, but chances are John Q. Public, wanting to get into a classic musclecar, probably isn't as versed as some of us to spot the changes/fixes. Might actually be a decent driver and the foundation seems like it could be there to change the car as the new...

Does anyone have a picture of these wheels on a '71-'73?

Sorry, sure don't. Don't believe I've seen anyone run these on a 71-73 either. My only criticism of the wheel is that it appears convex. A concave design, or deep dish wheel, looks so more muscular.

Yep, the Mustang scene was good I thought, nice respect to the last year of the "first gen muscle"....but did they have to wreck it!? :(

wheel vintiques magnum 500s vs Jegs brand Sports star 5 spoke

I run the Jegs Sport Star wheels and have been pleased.  I think the look compliments the car and they were lighter than the steel wheels I took off my Coupe. I went with 15x10 wide on the back with 275/60 tires.  I actually run these wheels on both my '71 and '72.  I believe the back spacing on...

    Father of the Mustang gone

I can certainly appreciate and respect his efforts with the original Mustang, but don't think he was a fan of our years. It was my understanding that it was Bunkie Knudson that wanted more Mustang racing and performance, able to accept a 429 big block without extensive mods and approved the...

    Exhaust for 73 Mustang 302

There's so much room in the engine bay with my '71 302, I run ceramic coated Patriot long tube headers, mated to a 3" exhaust, with X-pipe and Jones mufflers. Sounds like a nasty big block!

Headers to fit '72 Mach 1 w/400 engine

Well after spending quite a bit of time trying to get a used set of long tubes to work with my setup, I settled on shorty headers. I found a very nice, affordable set from Patriot (H8435) that looks like it's going to work great for me. It appears there aren't many options for 351C shortys for...

So what pictures should be submitted? Do you need outside, inside and engine bay pics to be considered?

    A Spin on Graphics

I totally agree, I can appreciate the purist approach, but that just isn't my taste. I too feel that I can make mechanical and visual improvements to our year cars and I have no intention of selling my coupe or Mach 1, so you're definitely preaching to the choir.  ::thumb:: By the way, looks...

    A Spin on Graphics

Thanks guys, I drove the car last Saturday night to the John Wick 3 movie and had a couple (who drove in with a hopped up Challenger) stand around my '71 admiring it for quite some time. Fortunately my Mustang didn't start life as a low production, rare, high optioned car, so over the years I've...

    A Spin on Graphics

So this idea began some time ago when I wanted a different graphic for my Mustang but wanted something tasteful and with a factory-like appearance.  As we know, it was quite common for musclecars to advertise their engine size on the car, and I particularly liked those that had it in large...

1973 Mach 1 in upcoming movie

Yep, and in typical fashion, at 2:18 of the clip, the movie makers see fit to trash another 71-73 classic.

302 2V new cam, which upgrades necessary

I agree that in order to optimize the power potential of a camshaft, one should consider the whole package. Induction, exhaust, gearing, stall (if auto), etc. can come into play, which is why you'll see camshaft manufacturers make recommendations/notes about the aforementioned when choosing an...

    71 - 73 mustangs

SVO2SCJ: '….Finally (and you are going to hate this)........1971 cars (all makes) should be separated from the 1972/73 (low compression /emission laden) cars- when talking about collectability and value IMO!    Talk to a 72 Chevelle owner about 71 vs 72.  (same goes for a 442 or Camaro)'...

Shifting at 7K+rpms too, nice. From the specs listed its a 500 HP engine, well within the capability of a Cleveland.
