Needed help with my roof repair, it was weak and had an oil canny feel. I think I have it solved, now.

If your working on a Sports Roof or Mach 1. Those that came with the optional 3/4 vinyl roof have an extra support brace directly under the rear edge of the vinyl where the finish molding mounts (right at the back edge of the drip rails). If you could find and install that brace it would...

    71 or 72?

Regarding the seat belt light, cars prior to Jan 1, 1972 the wiring diagram (for pre Jan 1 cars) indicates the light was present and had a time delay to turn it off after the ignition was turned on. In the wiring diagram for Jan 1 and forward, the time delay was gone and replaced with a buzzer...

    71 or 72?

Based on 72 wiring diagrams, the seat belt warning light above the glove box wasn't instituted until Jan. 1, 72 (federal requirement). Earlier 72s, built in the later 4-5 five months of 71 would not have it. 71 Mach 1s used the flip open gas cap. I have read 72s did not as the flip open type...

    Braking power?

These cars were long before ABS to prevent lock up. You should be able to lock them up if you push hard enough. Ideally you don't want to lock them up when stopping on dry, wet or slippery conditions which is a matter of how hard you press on the brake pedal.

    Reinstall A/C System?

On a car that had AC, there was a vacuum activated valve that turned the hot water (anti-freeze/water mixture) flow on and off to the heater core. If all the AC stuff was removed, it could be that valve was removed or disconnected from the vacuum control. Photos of what the heater hose set up...

No power, no juice, dead ...

I had a similar situation a few years ago. Turned out the battery had failed. You might try hooking up a set of jumper cables to see if you get power back to all the accessories. If that works, take the battery to an auto parts store and have it load tested.

The ducts pictured actually are not for AC, rather they are air ducting for 73 air cleaners that mount rear of and down around under the inner edge of the battery tray. The air drawn in is typically cooler than drawing air from under the hood.
