From what I understand, for 1971 and 1972 Mach 1's all the lower body panels were either black or argent.  Most did not come with the side tape stripes (hockey sticks). For 1973 Mach 1's there was no lower body paint applied.  Ray

I'd like to get some opinions  on how the caps were offered originally.  Did they always come with trim rings?  If no, what identified whether they did or not?  Maybe build sheet notation or?   And when (if ever) did the wheels get painted body color? Please keep this discussion to our 71-3...

No.  They are not Mustang.  If they are Ford maybe  late 50's or early 60's.   Find a part number on them and post.  Might help determine. Ray
