I may have already asked this question

My square hole is a bit rounded than before. So, I’ll see what fits. Thanks.

I may have already asked this question

Does anyone know a source for these welded in nuts? Or are we just welding in regular off the shelf nuts? Here is the one I am missing, on the drivers headlight side: Thanks.

1973 Convertible Project: Undercoating Decision Time

A few holes. I’ll wait till all of the undercoating is off to deal with it. It’s where you would suspect; on the flat parts of the floors. No rust where it matters. 🫰 I kinda remember the last time I did this, but that was north of 30 years ago; man are my shoulders sore.

1973 Convertible Project: Undercoating Decision Time

So, today, more “rust” removal, started at the rear bumper area, and was able to scratch, buff, and sand the surface rust off. No new surprises. One question I do have. The structure, spot welded to the bottom of the trunk pan, used to located the fuel tank and also to strap it in place: how do...

1973 Convertible Project: Undercoating Decision Time

Well, another month, time to get back to the Vert. I’ve completed the rust treatment of the passenger compartment and the trunk, including the trunk drop offs: I also got the car up on the blocks I made a year ago, to aid in the next step, the underbody cleaning and rust protection...

    Mystery Hole

I wonder if it was an indexing hole for the welding jigs on the line? They look reason I as asking, in part, is because, while it’s difficult to see in the pic, the hole on the drivers side looks like it was deformed by something; it’s no longer round. I’ve got the rubber plug set from NPD on my...

    Mystery Hole

Anyone know the purpose of this hole on the door pillar? There’s one on each side. I suspect the hole on the passenger’s side is for the antenna. Drivers side?

    Intro

Welcome from So Cal. Tell us the story how the car came to live with you. Old cars are kinda like kids who never move out! Always needing a few bucks to keep working. Beside car pics, I am finding I’m as interested in the “shop” you’re gonna be living in now that you have a room mate. So pics of...

Can I use an NOS 71 Expansion valve with R134a or do I need to replace with a new one?

While some OEM r134 systems cool very well, they were designed from the ground up to do so. Ours is a conversion or a retrofit. So, we’re giving up some capacity for the convenience of available materials in the future. If it were mine, and I am facing this decision very soon, I would keep the...

    351C where to start?

Just a thought since your car has amnesia, it’s possible your symptoms point to a contamination fuel tank. I know you changed the carb, but did you trace back to the pump and the tank to verify clear fuel flow? Since the PO didn’t give you the straight story, what else did they fail to mention...

Testing plug wire with OHM meter. I don't understand the readings

I’m not sure this will help, but here is a video of testing spark plug wires with a VOM: Hope it gets you what you’re needing. Good luck.

    Car cover

Thanks @TheDude for the recommendation. Yea, I really need one that can handle the sunlight, heat, and wind when it’s outside. Rain and snow are not a big problem.

    Car cover

Any recommendations on a car cover (73 Vert)? With my limited garage space and my car plans, I can see that I’ll need to store it in my driveway (Arizona) from time to time. Thank you.

    Undercoating

I’m applying POR15 on the underbody as a rust barrier. My plan was to apply the POR brand Bedliner afterwards as a final finish. For me, it’s more of the look of the finish. Anyone have experience doing that?

    CJ Pony Parts shipping rates

Yea, if we’re being honest, I sometimes use Google to search inside the NPD.com website to find a part. And, if you’re asking, it would be a nice feature to have a spreadsheet appearance in the wish list, with part name, number, quantity, price, etc. with a total at the bottom so we can inform...
