    Carburetor heat shield

Another thing not mentioned is that your fuel pump may be failing. While not as likely as fuel vaporing in the feed line from the tank, unless the line is very close to the exhaust pipe, it’s unlikely that. It’s where the roof and the sail panel merge. Both of mine on my 73 Grande need significant body work. That one area on the...

Need some electrical guidance. Temp gauge inop and tach inop

Yea, sitting for a long period, you could have some oxidation at the connectors. You might pull them apart, clean the pins, etc and see if it changes anything. And of course, the trigger wire for the coil could be off or loose, or ?? These cars require constant attention; that’s why most of us...

73 Convertible Project car on FB Marketplace

Sometimes the projects that you have to peruse the seller turn out to be a good deal. Most people would see this ad and click to the next. At least go see it and see what’s really there. Just my junk Hunter in me.

Engine won't start and turns over like it has no compression

Lots of times when the plastic gear fails, parts of it end up in the oil pan. So, consider that as well. Others may have relevant experience with this. When my 400M failed, the gear was in pieces.

I think you have to put something in the gap of that retainer, and pry it apart. As I remember, that clip is installed by putting the retainer through the clip, squeezed by players. The result is what you see. It’s not removed by rotating it. Others with more experience will chime in.
