    FMX to 4r70w swap

I have a "goodwill" agreement in place with Monster for an AOD I installed in my 73 Mach 1, so I can't share some of the details of my experience. But, I can say that in the end I was satisfied with the transmission, which is not a derogatory statement. I wouldn’t dissuade anyone from getting a...

    Built 73 Q Code Mach 1 Walkaround.

Beautiful Mach 1. I have a cousin 73 Mach 1 that we had a deep re$toration performed on about 3 years ago. It is still as gforgeous now as it was then (walk-around on our below). I took note that your rear wind spoiled is mounted correctly with the thick edge facing forward. I remain shocked...

    Wrecked

I am saddened by this loss. I feel your pain. I totaled my first car, a Candyapple Red 69 Mustang coupe. My own fault. High school,'nuff said. It is amazing I lived past age 19. I can't begin to fathom how sad it would be to lose such a cherished car that survived this long. Drag... I...

    Mach 1 strip kits.

I have been using Graphics Express (also), for stripee kits as well as stencils. I have been happy with what I have received.

    Marti Report List :

I would be tempted to share out Marti Reports, but both of our 73 Mustangs were built as a bare bones vehicles. The Mach 1 came with an AM radio as its only significant option, and the Mustang Convertible was just about as bare bones - except the Convertible option included power disc brakes...

Dash lights dim, only 9.6 volts at light sockets.

If I recall correctly, Rocketman has a drawing of how the relay is installed. I found this drawing online at: https://www.rccinnovations.com/Instructions/RelayPac-Single.pdf There are other similar drawings for various kits and applications. To see all of the instructions for his various...

New Radiator Install - proper block flush

HeniKiller has offered some sound direction. I have only one further suggestion. I have seen a lot of cooling systems with scaling and corrosion causing problems with cooling systems. I stopped using antifreeze/coolant concentrate, where the concentrate is mixed 50/50 with water. Rather, I...

    C4 Trans Modulator / 2 Vacuum Lines

There have been excellents posts in this thread already. I have little or nothing more to add that would be of any value. Many thanks for the links provided for more info. I am now beginning to fill out that part of my little library of into.

Dash lights dim, only 9.6 volts at light sockets.

If you do install LED lights to replace the old incandescent bulbs, be aware the LED lights are polarity sensitive. If an LED is not working turn it 180 degrees and try again.

72 Mach1 - Convert from stock heater box to after market AC

Just thought I would chime in here for a moment. I asked a local shop who they would recommend between Vintage and Classic to get an aftermarket A/C system for our 1973 Mach 1. It was built with no A/C, so this required me to get a full kit. After the unit was installed I found it was an...

    New 73 Convertible Questions

I do not know how I managed to overlook this original post, and subsequent replies for all this time. But, I am glad it has come back around. The prior owner of our 1973 Mach 1 replaced its really steep 2.79:1 rear axle gear set with a 3.5:1 TractionLok set of gears. He told me it made far...

    Interval Wipers

I do not drive our vintage ponies unless the roads are clear of Winter salt residue and dry. So, the last thing I needed was intermittent wipers. But, when I looked at a schematic for our 73 Mach 1, I saw the wiper switch plugs and wiper motor (and circuitry) were the same whether for a two...

Tilt wheel rag joint (steering coupler) rebuild

All excellent info. Thank you for taking the time to put that together. I did not need to be emboldened before tearing into my Rag Joint refurbishment project. But, I must admit knowing you walked on those hot coals before I did, and offered some experienced counsel, does help me feel better...

    1971-1973 Mustang Door Glass

I am in the midst of a work in progress on our 1973 Mach 1. In researching info re: door glass on the 1973 Mustang I found out some interesting stuff. And, I am sure at some point if you need to change the door glass on your 73 Mustang you will want to be aware of this info. Ford was using a...

Where the hell I have been and why your order isn't done yet.

For anyone who thinks they have it bad, just check around and you will likely find someone who has been through a tougher meat grinder. Bob, your advisory is a case in point. Hey, I have tremendous respect for you and your work. I hope you and your wife get things back to normal as soon as...

    Yella Terra rocker arm failure

I am glad this topic was posted, to include the manufacturer's response. Guess who is not going to be on my short list for valve train components when I begin to do an engine build? Burning a fellow enthusiast is just as bad as burning me. Sure, warranty expired. But, it sure looks like a...
