Looking for opinions on blackout alternative

If you have the cash on hand and don't mind taking the chance, why not? At the very worst you try it and pull it off.

    HOLLEY Classic Carburetor Questions

I agree that based on the photo posted above, both ports are likely manifold. Whether you use a ported or manifold source is usually just whatever you prefer, but ultimately should depend on what your engine responds well to. I've had cars that "liked" both - depending on the engine build and...

    HOLLEY Classic Carburetor Questions

The rear port is vacuum for either the brake booster or can be used for PCV - it has nothing to do with the secondaries. Vacuum secondary carbs take the signal from passages in the main body. If you have power brakes, this is usually the default port to connect to the brake booster. The two...

    Flexplate Issues

I've done that a time or three. Works surprisingly well.

BFG Radial T/A vs Cooper Cobra for smooth ride

I run Coopers on my Wrangler, and might think about using them on the Mach 1 for a different tie-in (the last name). I try to avoid driving in wet weather, but the comments I've heard about that worry me a bit. However, that has not been a problem on my Jeep.

Heater box needs rebuild, time to swap to LED dash lights

Did you use the original filters or replace them? I see NPD has repops, and mine are pretty cloudy. Still considering my options, so asking more questions...

Help with 1971 Rear Window Louvers.

I've never had that issue - my louvers fit very similar to the ones pictured, but I have heard others say that it can be a problem.

Help with 1971 Rear Window Louvers.

I found this on Summit's website - it is pretty similar to the instructions I had with my Astra-Hammond louvers. Maybe this will helps at least as a rough guide...

Heater box needs rebuild, time to swap to LED dash lights

I'm researching this, and have a few questions. - Are you using these with the blue diffusers? - Are these the warm white (slightly yellow, so if using the factory diffusers, they create the blue-green gauge light) - Does the dimmer work correctly? - Any sense of quality/longevity?

Any Ideas what this electrical item is & might be for?

I used a device like the one pictured for exactly that, just a few years ago. I probably still have it somewhere. It was really just a band aid for a Holley electric choke that tends to open too fast.

    Ignition Issues

I agree with Steve, it sounds like your timing is still wrong. Make sure you know exactly where TDC on the compression stroke is and start from there. Although Ive been 180 out of the distributor before and never had a fire at the carb, so make sure you don't have anything else wrong.

72 steering column to firewall seal

https://www.cjponyparts.com/steering-column-seal-at-firewall-automatic-transmission-mustang-1971-1973/p/SCS3/ It's really not molded - yours is compressed so "looks" molded.

    Carpet recommendation

To add to GrantOV's post - I don't see any problem with the RockAuto stuff. I had the cheap-ass version installed by the previous owner, and changed it out with the mass backed carpet from RA - much nicer, and a lot cheaper than ordering from ACC.

    Disc brake conversion options

I used this kit for my front disc conversion. In the interest of being transparent, I bought from a mechanic friend for less than retail. Its for a 67 Mustang, but it bolted right up. I run aftermarket 15-inch aluminum slots, but these are supposed to fit stock wheels too. Pirate Jack Kit I...

    Automatic shifter recommendation

All posts above are steering you right. While you have your sifter out, check it for looseness and consider rebuilding it - very cheap and easy considering what it does for you and your driving experience. Here is a great video that I referenced when doing mine.

    Carpet recommendation

Sorry, it needs swept. The mass backed carpet sits nice and snug, no gapping like the old cheaper version.

    Carpet recommendation

I just installed ACC's mass backed carpet in my 71 Mach 1. its good stuff, it just takes a little work to get fitted due to the thickness. If you go this route, order through Rock Auto, much cheaper than ACC direct.
