    I feel a little needy

I just learned something, I had no idea that part existed. When I disassembled my rear brakes that part was not there (I took photos and it is not on there), and I assembled everything exactly the way it was. I also bought the brake kit with all the springs and everything else and that piece was...

Photo shoot with the green machine

Beautiful job! You are going to have to call Vito to go and break the knees of your engine builder, that guy has been taking too long!

    Ram air operation

Agree with mrgmhale, the stumbling/stalling issue is not because of the ram air being closed. Most probably, as stated by megmhale, it has something to do with the accelerator pump circuit in your carburetor, or with the timing being retarded, or maybe just a vacuum leak making the engine run...

    Inconsistent Idle

I had this same type of issue with my 1972 442 with a Rochester 4V carb. I know my Holley carbs in and out, but not the Rochester's. Anyways, it would do exactly what your is doing. One other issue I had was with the car being hard to start when cold. You would start the car and you had to keep...

    Ok what is it

I see no reason why you could not remove it, but you cannot plug the lines from the fuel tank as those are the vent lines for it.

    Ok what is it

Charcoal cannister. Very early form of emissions control. The fuel vapors from your fuel tank come into this can and are passed throough some charcoal that is inside it before they are sucked back into your engine through a hose that goes to the air cleaner.

Best daily driver tires/15" Magnum wheels/rainy FL

I am using Copper Cobras in 235/60-15. There really isn't much out there as far as a high performance tire for 15" wheels. It would be great if we could get some Michelin Pilot Sport tires in 15", but we can't, and honestly, I don't think that is going to change. Only thing I could suggest would...

    Lower Cowl Repair Question

If I was in your situation I would get the lower repo cowl panel and just cut what I need from it and try to weld it from the bottom. Since you seem to have a nice hole there right now I would get my hands in there and clean all the rust in there and coat everything with POR-15. After all the...

    Fredensborg's 1973 Mach 1 improvement/build thread "Sleipnir"

Check your front strut rod crossmember, I bet that it was hit on the passenger side and that is what bent the strut rod. I know that I had the same issue with a bent passenger side strut rod, and it was that the crossmember had been hit pretty hard. Bought a used strut rod on on eBay. That may...

    Stall converter

Read the B&M article again, you are confusing advertised duration with duration at .050. A 2400 stall converter with a 234 at .050 cam will be a dog off the line unless you have 4.56 gears, and even then it won't be optimal. The best advice was given by a previous poster, just choose a converter...

    Horde old parts, or toss?

If you have the 1/2" rear sway bar with the brackets that go on the leaf springs springs, and the chassis brackets, that is an easy $400-600 on eBay. I do not throw out anything that is original Ford stuff that can be rebuilt. I have the original power steering pump tucked away (bought a new one...

    Valve cover beautification.

There really should be any real trick to doing this, except making sure that the rails are flat, which you can do with a hammer and some flat wood, or a small dolly. The best way to do it would be to sandblast them and then primer them and paint them, but if you have not access to a sandblaster...
