A couple things to add. I also talked to Eaton. Measured spring with calipers, counted windings, doublechecked part number compatibility for my specific car and options. They said i had correct spring. Mine never settled. I had LCA bolts loose, i drove around neighborhood at low speeds went...

Parts Wanted Parts Wanted List - 72 Sport Coupe

Also, I realized I have a passenger side chrome fender extension, but not driver…..it’s also in decent shape, minor nicks and chrome is nice but not perfect. It’s an original ford part, was installed on car when I bought it.

Also, found these markings on back of packaging, so it’s a 1998 part??

Parts Wanted Parts Wanted List - 72 Sport Coupe

Sorry for the delay..just go back from travel….pulled the chrome hood trim out of the basement for some pictures…. It’s an OEM “Ford Service Part”, not aftermarket. It’s “new never installed“. The posts are intact and never touched by a nut. Full disclosure, it’s not perfect. It has many many...

Mine was also way high. I wanted a slight drop from stock. My new springs were so high i could move my fist in and out of wheelwell over the tire without touching the fender! I ended up cutting 1 full coil for about a 4” drop. As you can see it tucked my front tires slightly which is perfect...

72 Mach1 - Convert from stock heater box to after market AC

My CAA a setup is identical to yours!! Great system!! OP, with a heater only car you will need a hole in the firewall, and additional brackets and pulleys, and possible power wiring. CAA can get you a complete kit for your specific car as it sits….get some good engine bay and dash pictures and...

    Wrecked

Hagerty treated me very good. Most insurance allows immediate family, or “drivers with owners permission “. Some policy’s exclude other drivers to only “named drivers”. Read the policy, make the claim. They were generous with my claim. Glad you are ok!!

Looking for feedback on my new wheels

Not a fan of the super wide and jacked up look…but it’s not my car. If they fit in the wheel well I would say big thumbs up, rims are nice! Make it your own!! And love it!

    71 parts car value

Grand coupes are the cheapest and least desirable . still as others mentioned, lots of good 1 year only parts there. The front bumper and mounts are probably the single most valuable item…depending on condition, $250-500. A perfect one would be $700…turn signals, wheelwell and other trim...

Parts Wanted Parts Wanted List - 72 Sport Coupe

I have a new OEM chrome front hood lip. Problem is I am about to leave town for a week, and can’t deal with it right now. If you haven’t found one in a week, let me know…I am near Atlanta.

    Minor appearance upgrade…

New valve covers..these are $100 Chinese cast aluminum. Ford 302. Best part, I had to buy GM grommets to fit the openings…took hours of driving to auto parts stores to find the right grommets… They sealed well, look good. Really hard to see them! 302 looks lost in a 71 engine bay...

Where the hell I have been and why your order isn't done yet.

Wow that’s a lot! Prayers for you and family!! It’s tough being a small business owner, true enthusiast will understand…..

    Engine Block Number

If you have a 302, the VIN should be stamped on the top of the block, in the back, drivers side, facing up. Just behind intake. Look for a flat spot about 1.5x2 inches. Clean the paint and grime off and partial car vin is there….

1971 Mustang cowl vent block off cover plate

On my 71, the kit came with an lower block off plate to RTV and screw in from underside. That left a bowl up top to capture water, which concerned me. I made a thin walled aluminum cap to cover it, sprayed it black to hide it, and RTV’d it to death… it’s easier on a 71, huge openings to cowl...

    Door glass adjustment

If you take the inner door panels off you can access the adjusters….there are forward backward, in out angle and tilt front back adjustments you can do. Tip, get a suction handle or two from harbor freight, put car in center of garage, close the problem door and adjust position with suction...

    Radiators

I bought one of those $175 Chinese 3 core radiators from Amazon. My car is AC car, so I got a 26”. It cools great. The only problem is the mount points don’t work with stock mount parts….if I cut and grind some tabs I can fix that. Otherwise all good..

    Dash removal...assistance please? Seats?

Lift pad up about 4 inches and pull back in a Hard jarring yanking motion! For the seats, by far the easiest is to unbolt track from floor, then remove assembly.(2 vertical bolts front, 2 horizontal bolts rear) Then remove track from seat bottom if needed.

Convertible Top Pump and Lift Cylinders O-RINGS

I bought new cylinders and lines and they came with a pack of small o rings, I think they were to seal the line to the cylinder and pump. I have never seen a rebuild kit. Mine looked pressed and sealed permanently.
