Actually I had my chance once at a '69 Shelby Fastback. Back in 1973, my wife was expecting and we had my Mach and her Pinto. Needed something with a little more trunk room, so I figured it was time to get rid of my Mach and get a family car. This was also the time the first oil embargo hit...
Nice story. Always interesting to hear about actual things that happened back in the day. I know that back then, what is considered muscle cars today were every day drivers back then. I gave my dad a '66 Mustang coupe k-code when I went to serve uncle sam. When I got home he gave it back to...
Ok, just for fun. If you could have any car given to you, what would you wish for?
Myself, I've always wanted a 1969 Shelby convertible. Small block, grabber orange with black interior, black top and a 4 speed of course.

Alan,
Congrats on your new life in retirement! Always admired SC, would have liked to relocate there myself except family is all located here. Instead we moved to our retirement home a few years before actual retirement. No complaints, remodeled the house per my wife's wishes and the garage...
OK, since I was changing the seal and oring, I decided to cover all the bases and replace the oring on the dip stick tube just to play it safe. For two day I soaked the junction where the tube went into the trans case, remove the one bolt on back of the head that held it in place. Tugged...
Something that I discovered after posting this repair write up. After trying to reinsert the detent sping and plunger into the trans housing many times plus using all the words that the Army taught me (along with a few new ones I made up) I stumbled onto a good solution.
Coat the detent spring...
OK Guys,
Being an engineer with a lot of time on my hands, I decided to change my leaky shifter seal on my FMX trans. Using info I found on this site as well as bits and pieces from other sources, I created a manual using lots of my own pictures and discriptions. Just in case I am ever stupid...
Thanks everyone. You have given me some good suggestions. Now if I can just work up the never to spend hours under my car scrapping, having junk falling in my face. Hey, but this is my hobby I'm having fun..........right!!
OK Guys,
I've used kerosene in the past to remove undercoating. It was labor intense, as I had to apply it several times on the heavier build up of undercoating, then going back and rescraping many times before I was able to get down to actual metal. The smell was terrible plus very time...
Is the rear spoiler Ford along with Ford pedestals? Could you post a few more pictures of both, from underside, sides, etc.
I do have a trunk lid that did not have a spoiler on it.

I have to admit I have not read all the earlier posts on this topic, so if this is a repeat, please excuse me.
Stores by me and from what I understand just about every where do not have toilet paper (go figure...won't go there). The small standard size rolls are scarce. However the large...
Steve,
I believe that the C6 dipstick tube is similar to the FMX (and C4). There is usually one bolt where the tab on the tube mounts to the back of the engine. Once removed the tube is supposed to "pull out" of the transmission. I say supposed as in my experience, after years of it being in...
