    Factory Tach and Pertronix II.

No changes in the wiring are required. The PII works with and without the resistor. Leave the wire from the ignition switch (red with light green stripe) connected to the coil positive terminal. Connect the PII red wire to the positive terminal on the coil and the black wire to the negative...

    Looking for 351 Cooling Improvements.

Have you verified that the temperature gauge you are using is showing the correct temperature? If not, use an infrared thermometer and check the temperature of the thermostat housing.

    Interior lights flashing

It sounds like you have the light circuit connected to the instrument voltage regulator.

Valve cover Oil breather cap issue!

You might try pulling the grommet out. Some valve covers had the twist-on notches, but were covered up by the grommet.

351C 4V Spreadbore intake vs Squarebore intake

Adapters are OK, proper fitting ones won't hurt power that much. The biggest drawback is hood clearance. If you have ram air you would have to modify the air cleaner housing. Check to make sure you have 1+" clearance above your existing air cleaner.

351C 4V Spreadbore intake vs Squarebore intake

The only carburetor that will fit the OEM spread bore manifold is the Autolite 4300D. The 4300D carburetor is scarce and expensive and somewhat difficult to keep properly tuned. To use any other carburetor requires an adapter. This one is for a square bore...

Are you referring to OEM intakes or aftermarket?

    71 Mach shut down

Looks like the mat covers up quite a hornet's nest. It looks like you have a PowerMaster one-wire alternator. The distributor appears to not be the stock distributor. Is that the ignition box on the top of the radiator? If so, that may be the source of your problem, bad wiring and overheated...

Instrument Cluster Screw Hole Repair - Can it be done?

The black ABS cement is fairly thick and designed not to run, so is unlikely to run out of the gap. In fact, I would use a flat blade screwdriver to force some into the crack. It'll also need to be forced into the screw hole.

Instrument Cluster Screw Hole Repair - Can it be done?

The black ABS cement is basically ABS plastic dissolved in solvent and dries to ABS plastic. Because the split section is hidden from view you can just fill in the hole with the black ABS cement, wait for it to dry, and drill it to size for the original or a sheet metal screw.

    Electric AC?

I've been going to do this for a while, this discussion finally got me motivated. I wanted to see what size alternator I'm going to need when my build is finished. This is a snip of the spreadsheet, if anyone wants a copy of the spreadsheet let me know and I'll post it.

    Vacuum line?

If the vent is plugged condensation trapped inside the housing will cause rusting. Also, when the vent is plugged, and the differential warms up while driving, the built-up pressure can force gear lube out through the seals.

Adjusting Rotor Phase on Duraspark Distributor

One other thing comes to mind. The DuraSpark box receives its ground from the pick-up coil (distributor module), which is grounded to the distributor body via a small brass ground strap under the wire grommet on the opening in the distributor body. Check to make sure that ground is good. It has...

    Electric AC?

Nothing wrong with bringing up an issue like this. Interesting topic. Definitely offers flexibility, in not needing the engine mounted brackets, idler pulleys, and crankshaft pulley. And, it is doable. Selection of a mounting point may be critical, depending on how noisy they are. Please let us...

Adjusting Rotor Phase on Duraspark Distributor

Check the condition of the breaker plate bushing. If it is worn it will change the spacing between the reluctor and pick-up coil as it moves back and forth. Check the gap between the reluctor and pick-up coil.

    Electric AC?

I agree, the compressor requires the same amount of power, assuming the effectiveness and cooling capability is the same, whether it is powered directly by the engine or by the electrical system. The battery has the capacity to power the compressor for a short period of time, but has to be...
