Mustang Mach E................if that's what they call it!

That's a good summary. I've seen that you can find dozens of articles and studies that claim the lifecycle pollution impact of electric vehicles is higher than gas vehicles, but then you can find just as many, if not more, research and studies claiming the opposite. The reality is that...

What did you do to your car today?

Good question, I didn't actually see a spring rate listed on their site, but I went with the sport profile with small block selected, so I'm pretty sure it's a lighter spring. Rides about how I expected - definitely absorbs bumps in the road better than the stock setup, but not as harsh as a lot...

What did you do to your car today?

Yeah, so the idea behind the bump steer kit is to prevent any unwanted drift or uncertainty in the steering when encountering bumps or potholes in the road. As the suspension compresses up/down, there is a change in toe. Generally, the more you lower the car, the more bumpsteer you are gonna...

What did you do to your car today?

Pulled the engine today to fix a rear main seal leak. Internals look great, which is really assuring since this was the first engine I built. This is after about 8,000 miles and 2 years of driving. Also taking this opportunity to clean, strip and repaint the engine bay. I'll make another post...

    Rebuilding/upgrading steering box

Same here. It made a dramatic change in how the car drives. Steering is tighter, more responsive, and I can actually feel the road better.

What did you do to your car today?

Today I got the StreetorTrack coilover conversion kit bolted up. The fit and finish is fantastic, so everything went together pretty smoothly. Also got the Baer bump steer kit for the outer tie rods and SoT's camber kit. The old suspension was CRUSTY... It was a bit overdue for replacing. Just...

    Vinyl wrap

That's a really good point. If your clear coat isn't in great shape, it will lift off when you eventually remove the wrap. The big enemy is UV light. If you let your wrapped car sit outside with no UV protection (i.e. sealants or ceramic coatings) for long periods of time, it will "bake" the...

    Vinyl wrap

The vinyl itself was about $650 in total. I think I used about 225 sq ft. Squeegees, heat gun, and a roll of knifeless tape was cheap - maybe $50.

    Vinyl wrap

I wrapped my daily driver. I'm pleased with how it turned out, but it definitely took more time and patience than I anticipated. Make sure you buy at least 20% more than you think you'll need and go with one of the name brands like 3M or Avery.

Rear Shocks from QA1 or Viking

Ditto on the Bilsteins. Super high quality shocks. StreetorTrack sells rears. https://streetortrack.com/suspension/rear-suspension/shock-absorbers-467/bilstein-rear-shock-for-65-73-mustang-60-65-falcon-67-70-cougar-62-65-fairlane.html#product-details-tab-reviews

What did you do to your car today?

Thanks! I didn't have much luck with the PB blaster, they were really stuck in there. Ended up rigging a kind of "press" like the one below to get the front ones out, and was eventually able to get the rear ones out after a lot of hammering.

Brake lines rear axle - how are they attached to the axle tube?

I just took my axle out yesterday to paint it. The small bracket that the flexible brake hose attached to is held onto the axle tube with the hollow vent bolt in the hole that's closest to the middle.  This is on an 8 inch, so I don't know if it's any different than a 9, but hopefully these...

What did you do to your car today?

Well I started today with the goal of getting the leaf springs off to replace the bushings. The bolts won that battle, but I got a case of the "since I'm here"s and ended up stripping and painting the rear end.  Think I'm gonna try again on the leaf spring bolts on the weekend. The nuts came...

    Mecum Auction 71 429 Vert

Don't know if anyone's posted this yet but thought this was a pretty special car. Can't say I've seen too many 429 4 speed verts. Any guesses on what it will bring? https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0121-444973/1971-ford-mustang-convertible/

Estimate of hours required to change heads, cam and timing chain

Are you pulling the engine out, or leaving it in the car? Edit: nevermind I misread your post. It depends a lot on your shop, but I would assume anywhere between 8-16 hours labor for that.

This is Posted in Sacrmento's craiglist .... Not mine

West coast cars make me jealous. That would be listed for $4000 if it was where I am. Looks like a lot of good parts.

Time to cash in your 401K

I don't understand how someone can look at the market and see what the Boss 351s are going for and have the gall to ask 4 times the going price. Look like someones got an extreme case of "I know what I got"

    22,603 mile, eBay 73 Mach 1

Interesting choice rocking the polyglas tires with the slot mags. Maybe hasn't been on the road in a long time?

Best aftermarket intake & carb & electronic ignition (alternatively, surrendering and throwing in the towel)

If you want the absolute best "headache-free" combo, I'd suggest either a vacuum secondary Holley 4160 or Edelbrock AVS2 carb (cfm will depend on your engine) paired with an MSD ready to run billet distributor - all of the perks of having an MSD ignition, without the box. I'm more of a Holley...

Radiator brackets with new Champion radiator

I did the 2 short brackets on the top for mine and it works pretty well.
