Ideas for a gauge cluster for 2 or 3 gauges

got both from Amazon but not sure if they are still out there. There are lots of gauges that fit but I wanted the ones that pointed down to match the factory oil gauge. This is the Bosch temp gauge I used, the volt is also a Bosch but I guess you would have to search for them. I used model...

Ever wonder what happened to a car you sold?

Sometimes you don't want to know. I sold my '68 AMX to a dealer in MA for 30K. He then sold it a year or so later on Hemmings on line auction for 88K!! Using my info, paperwork and it's history to say it was "famous"??? Guess he is a good salesman!

    Strange noise

well I don't have ramps. If I put the front on jackstands then use a floor jacks to jack up each rear tire to normal hight would that work the same? After the axle is on jack stands of course.

    Strange noise

I was finally able to get under the car today, I wanted to check the fluid level in the differential. I guess the only way to do that is the racket size plug in the driver side, correct? I pulled it and fluid started to run out so I put the plug back in. Would that say I have enough fluid in...

    Strange noise

My first thought was a bearing but why would it stop as soon as I take my foot off of the gas?

    Strange noise

On my way home yesterday, after driving the car for 2+ hours I started to hear a noise. It sounded like if you were driving past a saw mill, a high speed metal noise that would come and go. When I would take my foot off the gas it would stop immediately, Revving the engine in neutral (fmx...

    Aftermarket Steering Wheel blues

well I like my wheel, 1" smaller then the stock wheel. Easier to drive and my car is a driver. Guess my console with cup holders and my backup camera is also not "correct", oh well.

    Hilton Head Concourse D'Elegance 10/31/24-11/3/24

Hey, I forgot to mention this but when you start going to concours shows like HH regular cars shows PALE in comparison. One reason I stopped going to regular car shows was due to my attendance at various concours shows. You don't have that BLARING music being played all day. While my hearing...

    Hilton Head Concourse D'Elegance 10/31/24-11/3/24

As my first trip to HH resulted in me having won two awards ('68 AMX and '72 Javelin AMX, in different classes) I was asked by the HH people if my car club would like to be on display the following year (or was that 2 years later??) I had to pull teeth, even ask other AMC clubs to join just...

well you sort of can. If I remember correctly the only thing that made it a MD Javelin was the spoiler, decals, etc. and, of course, the factory paperwork. Nothing in the vin would denote that it was a MD. So, you can, like many others did make one.

Congrats on your acceptance. HH is a great show, I have been honored to have 3 of my cars (AMCs) all been HH awards winners in the past.

“Brakes” light constantly on in instrument cluster

Well drove 100 miles roundtrip to /from show with no issues. Will have all addressed when it goes into the shop next month. I guess no one at the show (Roswell Motor Festival) knew of the problem as she was named Best of Show.

“Brakes” light constantly on in instrument cluster

Upon deeper inspection it looks like a small leak at the back of the reservoir where it meets the boost as there is paint loss at the bottom front of the booster. Guess never checking the fluid level for 2 gears has taken its toll. No excuses!

“Brakes” light constantly on in instrument cluster

both were at the same level. Pedel feels good, not spongy and not low, feels like it always has. I see no fluid coming from the valve at all, nor at any of the wheels.

“Brakes” light constantly on in instrument cluster

I am ashamed to admit it but I have not opened the reservoir to check in 2 years until yesterday when the light came on. Have about 40 miles each way so I will keep an eye on it. Will take a short test drive today as well.
