The body shop is tearing out my poorly patched, rusted floors and told me I need to replace the lower seat platform that mounts under the floor. The pic I posted below if for a 65 - 68. Thanks Don! I put the pawl back in place but noticed it kept falling out. No sign of the spring so it must have disintegrated. I soaked it in Krud Kutter. Can you tell me what you used to lube up your emergency brake and do you know if the spring is available? Is the spring held in by anything...

OK, I think I figured out where this part goes from looking at other pics of emergency brakes. Looks like it should go back in where I have circled the brake below in red. Will give it a try.

Thanks for replying but I removed the rubber bumper before I soaked the part. The part that fell out is made of metal and came out when I turned the lever towards the ceiling. I wonder if something broke off since this was so rusty?

I soaked my very rusty emergency brake and got it clean. When I flipped it over to rinse it off and dry it, a piece fell out and I'm not sure where it goes. I also noticed the handle and arm don't spring back to position like they used to since this piece fell out. I have attached some pictures...

I also found out my engine is original as my VIN is stamped on the rear of the engine! That was a nice surprise. The tranny appears to be an FMX not the original C6 but I need to go back to the shop and verify that. Below are engine and tranny related pics.
