The 71 Mustang brochure mentions that any Mustang ordered with the Decor Group option (like my convertible) got deluxe black instrument panel appliques. So what is the difference between the standard interior and deluxe interior driver side and passenger side panels?

Also, if you order the reproduction driver and passenger side panels, which one'swould you get? The deluxe or standard?

Thanks.

71 Convertibles and Boss 351s with the Decor Group received the molded door panel - usually called the "deluxe" panel - which had an integrated armrest and vertical door pull. They're a much more "finished" panel than the standard, with the flat panel, separate bolt on arm rest and metal top trim.

The camera case finish dash panels were black plastic with a chrome trim around the perimeter. Standard interior had a matte black plastic gauge panel, and just the plain metal dash on the passenger side.

One thing to note is the 71 Decor Group used the same camera case finish center stack panel as the standard interior, not the woodgrain finish of the Mach1 Sports interior or the Grande. A convertible never came with the woodgrain center panel.

Lots of good pics on the 429 Megasite. Just be aware that not all of the interiors pictured are factory correct.
