    FMX issue

Start with the basics. The FMX is very sensitive to fluid level. Check the transmission fluid. Smoke is never a good sign but it could simply be the result of a leak which goes back to my first point.

I think we should all be ready for the China Virus

The regular flu has already killed 10,000 people in the US alone this year and the flu season isn't over. Why isn't everyone in a panic about that?

    429TJ/460 header selection

The FPA mid-length headers fit pretty well. I had to ding one tube to clear the power steering box. No big deal. You of course will have to fab up transitions to mate up to your existing exhaust. I don't know anything about the Lincoln manifolds. I had a pair of manifolds from a van application...

    Old 71 Mustang Commercial

Anybody see this "article"? https://www.yahoo.com/autos/watch-1971-ford-mustang-commercial-214758997.html Of course no 71-73 article is complete without disparaging bone headed statements like this, "People knew the Ford Mustang Boss 302 was a goner, replaced by the tepid Mustang Boss 351."...

Phosphoric Acid - Where Have You Been?!

Just be sure to look at compatibility with primer and topcoats when using phosphorous based rest remover/preventer products.

My only problem is they used an original R code to make this.

    Water pump gasket sealant

Permatex makes a water pump/tstat specific gasket maker but anything that is labeled resistant to antifreeze at your local parts store should do.

    429 Advice needed

A lot depends on condition. Without casting numbers it could be any 385 series engine. If it is a pre 1972 Thunderjet (most likely) the block and heads have some value as cores, maybe 300-500. If by some miracle its a real deal CJ/SCJ you hit the jack pot. Get some numbers off the heads and...

Info needed with my 71 Mach1

I seem to recall something like 144 Q codes were made in 71. I believe our resident Ford guru Secluff has posted on this previously.

    Zero lash

The edm hole in the face is done on solid lifters only. Crower's edm solid lifters are marketed as "cool face" lifters.

71 mustang 351c adding clutch fan

I had to use the Hayden 2947 on my 460 due to clearance issues at the radiator. It is so low profile that it is very difficult getting the nuts on the studs but with patience it can be done.

WHat radiotor set up for big block?

Do you have a fan shroud? I am running a stock style copper/brass 3 row radiator with an 18" mechanical fan, a fan clutch and a 180° t stat. On the hottest days it will creep up to about 205 when idling for extended periods of time but never overheats. If your having trouble cooling it and...
